Davis Has A Top Three

Rated as the No. 1 offensive lineman in America by Scout.com, Anthony Davis of Piscataway, N.J. has his choice of college scholarship offers. Which teams stand out right now? We caught up with him for an update.

There's no better offensive line recruiting target this year than Anthony Davis of Piscataway, N.J. Davis has offers from all over the country, including Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, USC, Florida State, and LSU.

Davis (6-6, 335, 5.3) had 60 pancake blocks last year during his team's championship runner-up season. He has played on both sides of the ball in high school.

"I play defensive end and right tackle on offense," Davis said. "I have two offers for defense and 43 for offense so I feel pretty confident I will be playing offense in college. It doesn't matter to me. I just want to help my team."

Davis only camped at Miami (Fla.) this year and has the Hurricanes and two other schools in his top three.

"I kinda have a top five," he said. "Miami, USC, Ohio State... Well, I have a top three. I can't come up with five off the top of my head."

Davis is being recruited for Ohio State by assistant Darrell Hazell. He plans on taking an official visit.

"I will definitely visit Ohio State, Michigan or maybe Penn State. I hear good things about Ohio State."

Davis has a friend currently on the Ohio State team, sophomore cornerback Malcolm Jenkins.

"Malcolm Jenkins is a friend of mine," Davis said. "He and I played together. He was a senior when I was a sophomore.

"We are not just former teammates. I speak with him regularly. In fact, I just spoke with him on Sunday."

What will be the factors in choosing a school?

"My decision will come down to atmosphere, coaching and how well I get along with the players," Davis said.

Expect him to announce his decision this winter.

"I will make my announcement on my school at the Army All-Star game," he said.
