Williams said that is likely to be sometime in the week leading up to St. Mary's season opening game on Aug. 26.
St. Mary's coach George Porritt has been quoted as saying that Washington has committed to the Buckeyes, according to a report on the Rivals.com network.
It was roughly two weeks ago when Bucknuts.com first reported that a family member had said that Washington had committed to the Buckeyes. But, subsequent to that report, Washington was quoted by various sources as saying he had not issued a verbal commitment.
"A lot of people have been saying he committed (to Ohio State) for two weeks," Williams said. "He will be committing before the season starts. He will probably be announcing it at the school."
Williams said school starts this Friday.
"This is his major decision and we have said this is his baby," Williams said. "I know he had it down to five schools. Wherever he chooses, he will be there for four years. We have coached him this far along, but we want him to make that decision."
In addition to Ohio State, Washington also had offers from Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin. He had 35 catches as a junior. Washington comes from the same school as OSU freshman defensive back Aaron Gant.
The same report noted that highly touted defensive back Dionte Allen had verbaled to Florida State.
