chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 9:48:19 AM)
what freshmen in your mind, makes the biggest impact this season?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:48:42 AM)
Offensively, Chris Wells. He won't unseat Pittman, not even close, but he'll get about 10 carries per game IMO
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:49:20 AM)
Defensively, Ross Homan and Rob Rose. Homan has a hammy pull right now, but he should be fine and will be one of the top 4-5 linebackers for sure. Rose will be in the rotation at DE.
ohs (Aug 11, 2006 9:49:29 AM)
Is Frost back next year? How much will losing him hurt us this year?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:50:04 AM)
If I had to guess, I would say he won't be back. Pure speculation. Yes, I think it's a loss for the Buckeyes. I thought Marcel would beat out Nicol for the starting job.
buckeyesforlife (Aug 11, 2006 9:50:12 AM)
What games this year are you most worried about?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:50:37 AM)
At Iowa. Night game, senior quarterback in Drew Tate, good coach in Kirk Ferentz. That's the one I am most concerned about.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:51:01 AM)
Other games would be at Texas (but I don't think they can beat OSU without Vince Young) at Michigan State and Michigan.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 9:51:10 AM)
Hey Dave - anyone in particular impress you during practices?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:51:41 AM)
We have seen very little practice, but I think the talk of camp thus far must be Vernon Gholston. He looks great and Tressel gushed about him at media day.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:51:58 AM)
Gholston will either start, or will play a lot as the No. 3 DE
ohs (Aug 11, 2006 9:52:05 AM)
is Washington 100% ours and how big a pick up?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:52:42 AM)
Yes, Washington is a Buckeye, he's just taking his time to announce it. The jury is still out on exactly how good he is, but the Buckeyes need WRs and there's nothing wrong with stealing one from Michigan's backyard.
buckeyesforlife (Aug 11, 2006 9:52:50 AM)
Do you think Henton has the abilty to be the next troy smith?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:53:53 AM)
Absolutely. I talked to him yesterday and he knows he is walking into a good situation where he can learn under Troy for a year, then compete for the job next year. Henton's game is very similar to Smith's. Very mobile, but has a cannon for an arm and is accurate. It will be a good battle between him and Schoenhoft next year IMO.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 9:53:59 AM)
the new jerseys look SHARP. your feelings?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:54:14 AM)
I like them! Looks like all the controversy was for nothing.
chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 9:54:23 AM)
To add to buckeyesforlife question, is there a realistic chance he beats out Rob and Todd for next years spot?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:54:50 AM)
It's realistic, but I would give Schoenhoft a slight edge based on having an extra year in the program. But it will be interesting to follow.
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 9:55:04 AM)
Dave, from pics I'd say that Mitchum has about as much wght packed on that frame as can be and he seems the shortest of the OL's (6' 3"? maybe). Is he truly at 295 per roster? Your thoughts. Thanks
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:55:47 AM)
Kyle is not a huge kid, but I think he's right around 295. Bollman says he's coming along very well and will definitely be in the two deep at guard.
ohs (Aug 11, 2006 9:55:54 AM)
is Homan really hurt?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:56:16 AM)
He has a hammy pull, but should be OK in about a week. He's a gamer. Missing practice is killing him.
buckeyesforlife (Aug 11, 2006 9:56:41 AM)
What you think about Roy Hall, is it a possiblity they could move him to tight end now since frost is gone?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:57:49 AM)
Tressel said yesterday that Hall will not be moved to TE, but I think that could change at some point. But right now they seem very comfortable with him as the No. 3 WR. It really depends on how well Nicol and Smith play at TE, and how well Robiskie plays as the No. 4 WR. If Robo is right on Hall's heels and the TEs are not playing well, I could see them moving Hall to TE. But right now it's status quo.
chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 9:58:05 AM)
A lot has been said this offseason about the team's focus. Do you think the flury of sudden offseason events, (ie ill coaches, Mo C, Frost) has any effect on the team? How would you describe the state of mind of the team right now?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:58:38 AM)
It's hard to say, but I don't think it's affecting them much at all. Especially the Clarett situation. That's like a soap opera by now. Frost was a blow to the team, but they will get over it soon.
redondo (Aug 11, 2006 9:58:46 AM)
Hi Dave - What about Boeckman at TE?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 9:59:20 AM)
Interesting. I hadn't thought of that. Many Big Ten teams like Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa have moved big QBs to TE over the years. I don't think it will happen with Todd, but it's an intersting suggestion.
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 9:59:33 AM)
Dave, regarding Frost of whom I've been a big fan. He has the most talent and potential of the TE's but is the least likely to have his head in the game and produce over a season(s). Rory will probably benefit the team more and so will Ballard, IMHO. Your thoughts.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:00:29 AM)
I think the coaches had the same feelings. Frost had NFL-talent, but could you count on him? Nicol seems to be a heady player and Brandon Smith is also a smart kid. As for Ballard, he definitely knows he won't be redshirting now and is excited about the opportunity.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:00:47 AM)
Who makes the first BIG HIT of the year ... and on the same note who makes the first big offensive play of the year?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:01:08 AM)
I'll go with Marcus Freeman laying someone out... and Ted Ginn Jr. catching a long pass from T.Smith
buckeyesforlife (Aug 11, 2006 10:01:29 AM)
Dave are the bucks going to redshirt ray small? and do you think he can fill the shoes of ted ginn?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:02:16 AM)
I think Small will play this year. And no, I do not think he will be another Ted Ginn. Ginn is a once-in-a-decade (or more) player IMO
ottobuck (Aug 11, 2006 10:02:31 AM)
What are the chances Roy Hall is used as the second tight end in those situations?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:02:58 AM)
Right now, the coaches say there are no plans on using Hall at TE. But I think that could change at some point. It will depend on how the other TEs play, and how well Robo plays at WR
chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 10:03:16 AM)
Gonna put you on the spot Dave - Troy Smith, tOSU's all-time greatest QB?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:03:38 AM)
Yes, I am firmly in that camp. With another big year, he will remove all doubt.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:03:58 AM)
Anything new to report on the recruiting front?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:04:21 AM)
Unfortunately, I do not have any juicy tidbits for you. I still think Ben Martin will be a Buckeye, but that's just a guess.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:04:36 AM)
And I think Barksdale will eventually come back 'round/
ohs (Aug 11, 2006 10:05:00 AM)
who is next committ? and which OL and DT's do we eventually get?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:06:01 AM)
Probably Devon Torrence (unless you count T.Washington). Really hard to say with OLs. If they get either Claytor or O'Dowd I will be happy. D-line, I still think Barksdale will come here, and Jeremiah if he gets a test score up.
smu0104 (Aug 11, 2006 10:06:15 AM)
How much effect does Gholston truly have on Barksdale? Will a breakout year from Vern spell good things on the JB trail?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:06:49 AM)
It can't hurt, it can't hurt. They are more than just former HS teammates, they are close friends and Barksdale referred to him as an "older brother" on our radio show a while back.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:06:55 AM)
Think OSU covers the 18 point spread against NI, I think i read in phil steele that they have covered the last 5 or so opening day spreads
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:07:41 AM)
Good question. Let's just say I won't be logging on to my online sportsbook that day! Northern Illinois is a good team, this is their Super Bowl, and OSU always seems to start slow (other than the Texas Tech game in '02).
chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 10:07:52 AM)
Is A. Smith our legit start at CB opposite of Malcom?? Word on the boards is that Washington or Amos could surpass him. Who starts at that spot in Austin?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:08:47 AM)
Smith is a battler and I don't want to write him off. But if I had to guess, we will see Donald Washington in there by week 2. Or maybe Kurt Coleman or Andre Amos. I'm really interested to see how the young corners look at the jersey scrimmage next Saturday. That will tell a lot.
brutus (Aug 11, 2006 10:09:05 AM)
With Small enrolled and Saine on the way, who is the fastest Buckeye
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:09:28 AM)
I still have to go with Ginn. Maybe not on a track, but he has the best football speed/excelleration I have ever seen
buckeyesforlife (Aug 11, 2006 10:09:38 AM)
How is O'neal doing moving from corner to safty?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:10:21 AM)
Well he played safety all of last year. I think he's going to have a big year. He has great speed and can hit, it's just a matter of how well he will carry out his assignments and be in the right place.
ottobuck (Aug 11, 2006 10:10:27 AM)

DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:10:39 AM)
I don't believe so, unfortunately.
thegreatcornholio (Aug 11, 2006 10:10:48 AM)
Late getting here, TG said that this should be Troy's year for the Heisman and he can go for it in 07". Do you think TG will stay for his Sr. year?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:11:12 AM)
No, that's just Teddy walking the company line. He's out the door after this season, even if he doesn't have a great year IMO.
ohs (Aug 11, 2006 10:11:39 AM)
I guess we have to recruit another TE?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:12:15 AM)
It's not a must, but they might look at signing a TE in this class now. The good news is that they took a pair of them last year in Ballard and Miller.
lee (Aug 11, 2006 10:12:23 AM)
Do you think Ginn would be a high first round choice without playing corner?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:12:40 AM)
I don't think he will be a high first-round pick, but I think he will be somewhere in the mid-late first round.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:12:57 AM)
Do you agree with nevadas statement that Pittman is the BEST back in the Big 11
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:13:44 AM)
Absolutely. Pittman is excellent, yet somehow still underrated. The fact that he is still not listed as one of the top 20 RBs in the country by some publications is just mind-boggling. I love what he brings to the table.
chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 10:13:51 AM)
Who's the guy nobody's talking about that has a huge impact on this year's team? Who's your sleeper?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:14:26 AM)
Anderson Russell. He was the talk of spring but it seems no one is talking about him in the mix at safety. I'm not saying he will definitely start, but he will make a push and will play a lot. Great speed and a big hitter.
Ytown4life (Aug 11, 2006 10:14:38 AM)
If you had to choose between Robert Rose and Ben Martin, who would you choose
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:15:15 AM)
Now what kind of question is this!!! Since you are putting me on the spot, and since I have only seen Martin on film (and have seen Rose live) I will go with Rose. But I want both of them!
lee (Aug 11, 2006 10:15:30 AM)
and if he was playing corner, would that change things?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:15:46 AM)
Yes, I think if Ted Ginn was a corner/WR at OSU, he would be an early first round pick.
buckeyesforlife (Aug 11, 2006 10:15:54 AM)
How's Mike D'Andrea injury doing?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:16:35 AM)
All the reports are very positive and it looks like he will be able to play the opener. But we have heard this before. I'm taking a wait-and-see approach with Mike.
chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 10:16:45 AM)
Curious to who you think will man the starting LB spots for the big game in November?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:17:18 AM)
I think the best three are Freeman, Homan and Laurinaitis. But I also think it's going to be difficult unseating Kerr. Those are my top four and these things have a way of working themselves out with injuries, etc.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:17:22 AM)
clifford === buckeye ???
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:17:45 AM)
Yes, I think so. He grew up rooting for OSU and I think he's just "playing the game" a little bit right now.
Ytown4life (Aug 11, 2006 10:17:52 AM)
Why does Glenville put out the #1 corner every year (Whitner,TG II, O neal) yet they never actually end up playing corner
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:18:51 AM)
Ha! I've noticed that myself. OSU just thought all of them were better suited at other positions. They were definitely right with Whitner and O'Neal... but I still think Ginn should play a little bit of corner. Maybe we will see that this year, but Tressel says no right now.
thegreatcornholio (Aug 11, 2006 10:18:57 AM)
Pettrey or Pretorius? Will they share duties with one being for kickoffs and the other for FG/PAT's?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:19:59 AM)
I think we are going to see a platoon to begin the season, much like Nuge and Huston in 2001. Eventually, one of them will win the job just like Nuge did. Maybe Pettrey will be the kickoff/long FG guy, and Pretorius will handle short FGs and PATs. It's simply too close to call right now. Kick scrimmage will be crucial for these guys.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:20:09 AM)
What, if any, big name OOS prospect does OSU get in this recruiting class?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:20:43 AM)
I am going to say Barksdale. I know he says he is favoring Texas right now, but after the OSU victory on Sept. 9 and watching his boy Vern Gholston tear it up, he might have a change of heart.
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 10:20:53 AM)
Dave, I've heard alot of great player comments about S/C coach Lichter. What's your take on condition of the team and Eric? Thanks
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:22:19 AM)
It's very early, but everything I am hearing about this guy is positive. This offensive line is huge, while still looking relatively trim. I think it was a good hire and the players really seem to respond to Eric. He has a lot of credibility due to the fact he has worked with so many prominant athletes
ottobuck (Aug 11, 2006 10:22:27 AM)
If Troy gas the kind of year we all hope for ( National Championship & Wooping of um) where will he be drafted?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:23:17 AM)
Troy will be a late first round pick. I know the NFL scouts will have questions about his height, but I don't think he will last past the 32nd pick. His toughness, arm strength, mobility and leadership will be too much to pass up.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:23:34 AM)
And Drew Brees was shorter than Troy, and was the first pick of the second round.
smu0104 (Aug 11, 2006 10:23:50 AM)
In your opinion, will Larry Grant ever become a starter in his two years at OSU? His measurables are salivating, but I know he needs to learn the system. I just cannot imagine he and Freeman manning the OLB positions with their speed. From a purely athletic standpoint it would almost seem unfair!
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:25:06 AM)
I don't know if he will unseat Freeman or Laurinaitis, but he will play a lot, especially on special teams. It's a little amazing that OSU loses all three starting LBs, signs the JUCO player of the year, and he might not even start. Once Grant gets the system down, he is going to see the field, no doubt about it. I'm just not sure how much he will play. Again, it will be intersting to watch the scrimmage and see how some of these guys are coming along/
chex1868 (Aug 11, 2006 10:25:11 AM)
Another tough question. What's your predicition on the upcoming season Dave? Are we legit enough to run the table?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:25:55 AM)
I have the Buckeyes losing one game this year... but still winning the national championshp at 12-1. I do not think any team will run the table this year. There will be about 4-5 one-loss teams all fighting for those top 2 spots.
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 10:26:17 AM)
Dave, has discipline changed with the arrival of Gene Smith? Has JT changed anything? Thanks
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:27:23 AM)
About the only thing I've noticed is more of a focus on random drug testing. It seems they have stepped that up within the last year. Won't name any names, but if they had the same testing when I lived in the dorms in 1994--95, half the team might have been suspended for Haw/Frost related activities/.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:27:49 AM)
You think OSU still plays for the NC if lets say two teams from championship conferences win out each with 1 loss. It might seem tough for OSU to overcome the odds of a 1 loss season and a AUburn, Fla St, Miami and so on 1 loss team
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:28:34 AM)
I think with OSU's schedule, they will be in Glendale with an 11-1 record. But you're right, winning an SEC title game or ACC title game will look good on those particular teams' resumes.
lee (Aug 11, 2006 10:28:52 AM)
if there are 4 or 5 1 loss teams, will it drive the NCAA towards rethinking their position on a D IA playoff system?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:29:58 AM)
We can only hope! I think we will see a playoff system eventually, but not for at least another 10 years or so. It's long overdue. D-I college football is the only sport that doesn't end it's season with some type of playoff/tournament. Even the other divisions of college football have a playoff! Sore subject with me (but hey, I wasn't complaining in 2002!)

No, I think he will have a change of heart and sign with OSU.
Ytown4life (Aug 11, 2006 10:30:28 AM)
With the recruitment of Henton, do you think JT is going for the more athletic QB, than the traditional pocket passer?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:31:10 AM)
I think he likes having a mobile QB, but will take the best QB he can find. Last year it was Henton. Two years ago it was Schoenhoft, who doesn't really fit that mold, but has a cannon.

DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:32:17 AM)
I'm going with Michigan there. They've had back luck against the Irish lately and I think they will win it this year. This might be the first time I can ever remember Michigan being a little underrated to begin a season. usually they are ranked about 5 spots higher than they should
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 10:32:25 AM)

With Pittmman, the Wells boys, Saine, Boom, and the possible Wisconsin back in the fold, do you see one more back transfering, or switching positions
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:35:00 AM)
Well, who knows if Pit will be back next year. I think he will be, but if he leaves early everyone will stay at RB. Many people think Saine will be more of a WR in college, but he will be 6-1, 220 by the time he plays at OSU and I think he will stay at RB. I like having a deep stable of RBs.

DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:36:09 AM)
Honestly I don't think he will play very much this year. The backup DTs will be Penton and Denlinger, and you might see Barrow slide down and get some playing time at DT as well. Nader still has a chance, but I don't envision him playing very much this year.

Any chance Dukes or Lyons gets any run this season??? Or has Robiskie and Hartline already passed them up?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:38:37 AM)
I think both of them could see some time. I think Robiskie has locked up the No. 4 WR, but I'm not sure Hartline has anything locked up. Dukes is the one I would keep an eye on here. Everyone was high on him two years ago, and his stocked seemed to fall last year, but he could be a nice surprise this year.
buckeyesforlife (Aug 11, 2006 10:39:21 AM)
Im gonna turn the table on just one question. do you think OSU will start a new power house for years to come in basketball like Duke and N.C.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:40:25 AM)
Maybe not quite to the level of Duke, but if Matta says here, absolutely! You won't find a better recruiter and he's a very good bench coach as well. OSU has the facilities and the fan base (believe it or not) to be a major basketball power. I think they will be a perennial top 10 team under Matta and will surpass MSU as the best program in the Big Ten right now.
smu0104 (Aug 11, 2006 10:40:38 AM)
Does Larimore RS and go into next year with no PT under his belt even though he is all but guaranteed to play or do you see him getting some time?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:41:18 AM)
I think he will redshirt. His weight is still a little bit down from his wrestling days. I think we will see something similar as what we are seeing with Denlinger. Redshirt, then play off the bench as a redshirt frosh.
ottobuck (Aug 11, 2006 10:41:44 AM)

DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:42:43 AM)
Every time something controversial happens in college football, they bring OSU's name into it. It's frustrating, but it's part of being on top. That was THE story in college football for a while and it hasn't gone away quite yet. (Let me add that Screamin A. Smith is awful.)
Ytown4life (Aug 11, 2006 10:42:52 AM)
Do you see JT or Matta going to the pros

Definitely not Tressel. Matta, I don't think so, but with him being so young maybe he will want to do that in 10-20 years or so. But right now, I think matta is a college coach all the way. My only question is whether he will stay at OSU, or go to one of the traditional powers like Duke (when Coach K retires), Carolina or Kentucky.
smu0104 (Aug 11, 2006 10:43:57 AM)
otto, how about Skip Bayless making a point to say, "what did that OSU guy do to start this" in regards to LenDale White spitting on Nickey!
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:44:02 AM)
Consider the source!
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:44:28 AM)
Bayless has been ripping Tressel/OSU for the last few years.
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 10:44:54 AM)
When does Thad Matta win his first NC at OSU? - and a similar Q - if you say OSU makes it to glendale this year (I assume that they are the winners they because hey - its JT) when does JT win his next NC?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:45:49 AM)
If I had to put my money down, I would say Matta will get very close, but will not win a national title at OSU. It's just too much of a crap shoot to win 6 straight games in the NCAA Tournament... Tressel is going to win his 6th this year. After that, who knows.

Isn't Skip on that old pizza show, I never watch!
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:46:29 AM)
yes, and they replay it at 3 (or so) as part of the "first and 10" show
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 10:46:44 AM)
Dave, what's your take on coaches Daniel/Bollman career futures? Thanks
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:47:49 AM)
Bollman looks like he is going to be fine. I had a lengthy conversation with him yesterday and he looks and feels great. ... As for Daniels, he looks pretty frail to me and I'm worried about him. I just hope he regains his strength and is able to get his health back 100 percent. But right now, he doesn't look good to me and is only working half-days.

When does Odgen play>
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:48:54 AM)
Greg Oden might not play until January. Hopefully they are just being ultra-concervative and we will see him sooner than that. He is supposed to get the screws out soon and they will reevaluate him then.
ottobuck (Aug 11, 2006 10:49:57 AM)
If Odgen and OSU doesn't win the NCAA tourny , will he stay for a second chance?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:50:47 AM)
I'm probably in the minority here, but I think Oden will stay two years at OSU. But it will be tough knowing he will be the top overall pick of the draft.
hambone1928 (Aug 11, 2006 10:50:57 AM)
Does OS win the Big ten in BskB.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:51:20 AM)
Yes, I think the Buckeyes will win the Big Ten this year. Wisconsin will be their toughest opponent.
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 10:53:42 AM)
Dave, Mo Wells seems a little overlooked. What do you expect the staff to do with him in the O scheme?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:55:03 AM)
I think they will use him all over. We'll see him in the slot, he'll play tailback, one back, everything. I don't think he will get very many touches per game (maybe 5 carries, 1-2 receptions) but he could be a nice weapon off the bench. I was not very high on him last year but the coaches seem very pleased with his progress. Hopefully we'll see him get the ball outside the tackles this year.
Ytown4life (Aug 11, 2006 10:55:25 AM)
Do you think JT limits schollies this year and save them for the mega class of talent next year
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:56:01 AM)
He might bank one or two, but I can't see him saving too many. Scholarship limits have a way of working themselves out with transfers, kids getting kicked off the team, etc.
hambone1928 (Aug 11, 2006 10:56:28 AM)
With all the CB's offered I think it was over 10 do you think we will get any? & which one? thanks
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:57:07 AM)
OSU always seems to pluck a DB or two out of nowhere (like Chekwa last year, Washington the year before) so I definitely think they will get a couple OOS CBs, but it's hard to say which ones/
scribeohio (Aug 11, 2006 10:58:22 AM)
Of Schaffer, Rehring, Skinner, Mitchum, and Person who do you expect to play or surprise the most? Thanks
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 10:59:10 AM)
If you would have asked me two days ago I would have said Skinner. He was the up-and-comer out of spring. But Bollman feels very good about Schafer and think he is on the verge of locking down that left guard spot. So, I would have to say Schafer. Good to see him get back on track.
hambone1928 (Aug 11, 2006 11:00:30 AM)
It looks like it comes down to OSU & Mich for Clifford Who wins? thanks
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 11:00:55 AM)
I think Clifford will be a Buckeye. He says he grew up rooting for OSU.
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 11:03:05 AM)
Thanks to everyone for stopping by. Any more questions before we call it a day?
kleintime16 (Aug 11, 2006 11:03:23 AM)
Do two Big ten teams make it to a BCS game?
DaveBiddle (Aug 11, 2006 11:03:55 AM)
I don't think so. Iowa has the best chance, but I think they will be just outside. Just OSU representing the Big Ten this year.
