Welcome to a new feature we hope you will enjoy where Duane Long takes a look at his top 15 personal preferences to fill OSU's recruiting class and determines where they stand. Duane will rank his top 15 players and then will give a percentage that he feels represents Ohio State's chances with the player, an indication as to whether or not the player's stock has gone up or down, and any comments he has on the player.

Duane Long's Thursday Recruiting Stock Report

<p class="MsoNormal">Welcome to a new feature we hope you will enjoy where Duane Long takes a look at his top 15 personal preferences to fill OSU's recruiting class and determines where they stand. This week, Duane starts with the players he previously had listed in his top 15 (back when he wrote his article on his choices for top 25 recruiting targets) and gives thoughts and updates on those players.  His comments on Dareus Hiley and Todd Boeckman are particularly interesting.

Comments

1. Prescott Burgess

70%

Up

Burgess' forty time at the Buckeye camp really sent his stock through the roof. It was reported that it was as high as 4.59 and as low as 4.55. Either way, that is a time that makes him a top 25 player nationally in my opinion and arguably top 10. The only question about him was his speed and he answered it with "flying" colors.

2. Louis Irizarry

A recent day with coach Tressel solidified his commitment to the Buckeyes.

3. Donte Whitner

Up

I am impressed with Whitner the young man as much as I am Whitner the football player. He is what I call a "Tressel Recruit."

4. David Patterson

Up

Great camp showing with several offensive players at the camp making comments about him. One coach said he was unblockable.

5. Wesley Jefferson

I have spoken to Jefferson several times now and he falls into that category of player I call "Tressel Recruit." He's a quality young man and I really feel like Jim Tressel can reel him in. I doubt he stays in the Maryland region.

6. Sian Cotton

Down

Camp showing didn't impress anyone.

7. Dareus Hiley

70%

Down

Took the summer off. He did not attend camps and didn't go to summer school. His grades were better spring quarter, but he still needs work. He needed to either work on grades this summer or his football skills and did neither.

8. Marcel Frost

Not Offered

Down

Did not camp and some of the big schools seemed to have disappeared. I don't understand it. Great player.

9. Brandon Maupin

70%

Up

Great camp season.

10. Michael Bush

11. Tyrone Moss

12. Brady Quinn

50%

Up

We should know soon. I thought he would verbal right after his Notre Dame visit. The fact that he didn't says the Buckeyes are still very much in it. I also heard recently that he likes Michigan better than anyone knows.

13. Todd Boeckman

25%

Down

All the information I have says the Buckeyes have backed off bigtime. Even without Quinn, I think the Buckeyes pass.

14. DeJuan Tribble

Not offered.

     __

DeJuan was supposed to be 5-10 or 5-11, but at Buckeye camp, he was 5-8. No Antione Winfields for Mark Dantonio. He likes the big corners. That's also the reason Thatcher was not offered.

15. Raymond Edwards

50%

Up

All he needed was the publicity. Could be a dangerous edge rusher in time. Great athleticism and body.

We will be making this a regular feature.  Duane will have updates of this chart and we will post them when we get them.  Check back soon for more!
