Wide receiver Matt Clements (6-2, 180) of Barron Collier High School in Naples, Fla. has reportedly received an offer from Ohio State. But Clements has not been in touch with OSU recently.
"I have not heard from anyone from Ohio State for a while," he said. "Coach Beckman had been in contact but it has been some time. I don't know what is going on."
Clements, who had 50 receptions for 726 yards and six touchdowns as a junior, is also showing interest in Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and West Virginia, and has offers from all three. He has already visited Pittsburgh and has plans to visit the other two.
"I have visited Pitt," he said. "I was a really good visit. I have set something up with South Carolina and I will set something up with West Virginia sometime in December or January. After that I don't know. I am going to play it by ear."
Originally Clements had planned to make an early decision, but now he has no timetable.
"I am in no hurry," he said. "I wanted to commit before the season but that did not workout. Now I am content to wait and see what happens."
Clements talked a bit about his season so far.
"We are not having the season I hoped for," he said. "We are 4-4 with two games to play. We can still make the playoffs but we need some help. Cypress Lake beat us and we need them to win."
