Junior Linebacker Receiving Interest

Recruiters have taken notice of linebacker Jamiihr Williams of Lima Senior. The junior impressed at the Scout.com combines earlier in the year and has already attended games at Ohio State and Michigan.

One of Ohio's top juniors, linebacker Jamiihr Williams of Lima Senior got off to a solid start but then saw things take a turn in the opposite direction.

"I have had a good year but I sprained my ankle in the Findlay game and have been out," he said. "I had 44 tackles in four games. I had 8 tackles in the Findlay game before I hurt my ankle."

The injury caused Williams to change his outlook on things a little bit. Playing time was always important to him in looking for a college, but he now might be putting more emphasis on it.

"I always thought that way but being off the field has really driven the point home," Williams said. "I hated sitting. It drove me crazy."

"I really don't care where I play in college, rush end or 4-3 LB, I just want to get on the field as soon as possible."

Williams (6-1, 220) has seen a move to linebacker after playing rush end last season.

"The move to a more traditional linebacker spot has been smooth," he said. "I have not had any problems with it."

Williams reported a 2.8 GPA and a 17 ACT in the summertime with a desire to retake. He put in a fine performance at the Scout.com combines in the spring, running a 4.78 40 and a 4.19 shuttle. He currently is showing interest in Ohio State and Michigan.

"I have been to Ohio State for the Cincinnati and Bowling Green games," Williams said. "I have been to Michigan for games. Neither is saying where they will play me. Michigan says they will worry about that once I get there if I chose them."
