Jackson Keeps An Eye On Ohio State

Cincinnati Harmony Prep center Mark Jackson has scheduled some official visits and plans to enroll at his college of choice in January. Jackson, who was a standout at Columbus Brookhaven, is waiting to hear about his status with Ohio State.

One prospect who has been on Ohio State's radar in recent months is Cincinnati Harmony Prep offensive lineman Mark Jackson.

The 6-6, 300-pound Jackson graduated from Columbus Brookhaven last summer, but then attended Harmony Prep this fall to play football and work on his academic standing. He was spotted attending at least one OSU home game earlier this year.

"I did not make it there for the Michigan game," Jackson said. "They played good that day. I know it would be great to play in a rivalry game like that."

Jackson said he is now fully qualified. His GPA is in the 2.7 range and he has a 19 on the ACT.

"I graduate from the prep school Dec. 14 and I plan to enroll in January," he said. "By coming in early, that should help me catch on quickly."

Jackson has visits set with Minnesota this weekend and Illinois Dec. 8. A Dec. 15 visit to OSU was a possibility. He was also looking at West Virginia and South Florida.

"Ohio State called me and told me they needed to review tape from my prep school," Jackson said.

Jackson said he enjoyed playing a 10-game schedule this fall at Harmony Prep.

"We played against Hargrave Military Academy and we also had games against small college and JV teams," he said. "I think that experience helped me."
