Colorado Junior talks about Ohio State

It's a nice benefit when you are contending for a possible nation championship and everyone knows who you are. You can cast a fairly broad net and recruit just about any area that you want. Colorado for example is home to a very talented junior linebacker who has already made a trip to Columbus.

Parker, Colo., is home to a talented junior linebacker named Jon Major. Major, a talented 6-foot-4, 225 pound prospect from Ponderosa High has taken a number of unofficial visits this year including a trip to Columbus, Ohio to see the Ohio State Buckeyes play the Wolverines of Michigan.

"I was up there in November for the big rivalry game against Michigan," Major said. "We saw the conference room and we took the walk with the players for the skull session. It was a great game that definitely lived up to the hype. It was amazing how much the people in that state support Ohio State football." Major, currently holds written offers from Wisconsin, Washington and Utah. He feels strongly that Rice is on the verge of offering. Location means very little to Parker as long as the school of choice meets the criteria that he has in mind.

"It really doesn't matter where the school is as long as it is the right fit," Major explained. "It will have to have good academics. It will have to have a good football program and it will have to be a place where I can play. Somewhere I know I am needed."

Major also took another trip to the Midwest to check out the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. "I met with some coaches. I toured the locker room and watched the game. Just like Ohio State everyone there is very supportive of the team. There are Notre Dame fans all across the country. We saw them play Penn State and it was pretty crazy"

Although, Major does not currently hold an offer from Notre Dame or Ohio State. He tells us that they have kept in contact.

"They send lots of letters and stuff," he said. "I don't text messages or anything from them."

Major, who carries a 3.7 GPA finished his second straight season at Ponderosa with over 100 tackles.
