Council Clears the Record

Morris Council emerged in to the recruiting spotlight today when a newspaper reports alluded that he would be taking an official visit to Ohio State this weekend. Scout.com caught up to Council for some first hand information.

Morris Council, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end from Southwest Dekalb High in Decatur, Ga., was the center of many Internet conversations yesterday.

Fans were scrambling to find out more about Council after it was reported that he was going to be taking an official visit to Ohio State this weekend.

"Yeah I read that," Council informed when asked if the reports were accurate. "I do not know exactly what happened there. I would be honored to go on a visit to Ohio State, but I do not have anything set up right now. I guess there was some sort of misinformation or miscommunication there with that."

"I went up to Ohio State's camp earlier this year, and they have been talking to me ever since. I am not going to say that I will not visit Ohio State. I know that they have some coaches in the Atlanta area right now. Maybe they will drop by and see me."

The fans were not the only ones that noticed the reports of the potential visit.

"It was crazy," Council began. "I had coaches calling me from a whole bunch of different schools. They were saying things like ‘I didn't know you were visiting Ohio State this weekend.' It only helped me really. When schools see a program like OSU showing interest, they notice you."

Council is seriously considering official offers from Miami (OH), Florida A&M and Toledo, but would not rule out the Buckeyes completely on the chance they may come back in on him at a later point.
