Future Buckeye: Boom Herron

After a torrid camp run this summer, Boom Herron secured offers from Ohio State and Michigan, but this Warren G. Harding standout decided to stay in state and sign his National Letter of Intent to play for the Buckeyes.

Boom Herron, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back from Warren G. Harding High in Ohio could not wait to sign with the Buckeyes.

"I can not even begin to put it in to words they way I feel about signing with Ohio State, Herron began. "I am just very happy and very excited. All that."

"I was just very comfortable there (Ohio State). The coaching staff is very exciting. Everything was just cool."

"All of the Ohio State recruits are real cool," he continued. "A couple of guys I have grown close to are Nate Oliver, Taurian Washington, Donnie Evege, Devon Torrence, Eugene Clifford and Solomon Thomas. I have grown pretty close to all of the guys that I have met."

Herron, who is a warrior in the weight room, is not going to settle for anything but the best, an attitude that will pay him dividends on the next level.

"Big things would have to be my expectations for myself at Ohio State," Herron reported. "For real. That is the biggest thing about it. As far as football is concerned, I am going to work my butt off and do everything I can. I am just going to stay focused as far as school and football is concerned."

"On the field I am going to do whatever they have me do. It is all business. It is a business thing. There are not any times to play any games or anything like that. It is all business."

"I hope that I can come in and help the team out, but if I have to red shirt, then I will take that as year to give me another step to build up and learn the program even more, and just get better," the Scout.com four-star prospect said.

Herron was also impressed by all of the new facilities and new things on and surrounding the campus of Ohio State

"It is unreal. That is the only word I can use to describe what they are doing there. Unreal," Herron exclaimed!

Herron reports that he wants to pursue a Communications degree at Ohio State.

As a junior, Herron rushed for over 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns earning All-Conference, All-District and honorable mention All-Ohio honors.

He earned All-Ohio honors this year leading his team to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the regional semi-finals.
