Koger Talks About Ohio State Visit

Northwest Ohio tight end/defensive end talks about his visit to Ohio State and the big news he received while there.

On Friday evening I spoke with Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer tight end/defensive end Kevin Koger about an offer he received from Michigan. This weekend the 6-foot-4 and 235 pound two-way All-City selection made a visit to Ohio State with his father and came away very impressed by what he saw.

"My dad and I visited Ohio State to watch practice and came away very impressed. This was the first time down there and I really liked everything I saw from the weight room to the cutting edge rehabilitation facilities they've got. While I don't hope to have to use them it's good to know they are prepared for anything and everything. I also really liked the player's lounge they have for players to hang out before or after practice."

Not only did Koger walk away impressed by what he saw, he also walked away from his trip with an offer from Coach Tressel.

"We went to practice and had a chance to talk with Coach Tressel. He offered me a scholarship to Ohio State and I'm very excited about that."

While Kevin stressed he's grown up a Michigan fan because of his father being from Detroit, he also said being offered scholarships from Michigan and Ohio State are huge honors.

"I'm very excited to have two of the biggest programs in the country offer me scholarships. I grew up a Michigan fan since my dad was from Detroit and it was a dream come true when they offered me a scholarship. But getting an offer from Ohio State just blew my mind. Who wouldn't be excited to be offered by these great football programs?"

Kevin Koger is a very athletic prospect who has programs looking at him on both sides of the field. From talking with him he seems to feel Ohio State and Michigan are the programs he's got the most desire in being part of. He was very excited about his OSU visit as he also stated his father was as well.
