Thomas Confirms Pledge

After much speculation as to whether or not the top basketball prospect in the class of 2010 did or did not commit to Ohio State, the talented prospect finally confirmed it over the weekend.

The news broke Thursday evening that highly touted class of 2010 basketball prospect DeShaun Thomas gave a verbal pledge to Thad Matta and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Thomas, a 6-6.5/210-pound forward from Bishop Luers High in Fort Wayne, Indiana has been hard for reporters to track down.

Over the weekend Indiana's Newscenter spoke to Thomas and he confirmed that he did indeed commit.

"I took a tour of the place and it's pretty big," Thomas said."I liked and it and I was kinda feeling Ohio State, so I committed."

Like most of the big time recruits that Ohio State has landed recently, Thad Matta was a big selling point.

"I like the way they play, the hustle and the defense," Thomas explained. "I like how (Thad) Matta coaches."

The obvious question now is, can Ohio State hold on to the talented five-star prospect? According to Thomas, Buckeye fans need not to worry.

"I committed there and that is where I want to be."

Thomas has visited Ohio State twice, his second visit was on Wednesday.

Matta has now landed arguably two of the nation's top three prospects in the class of 2010. He also landed a commitment from 6-6/225 power forward Jared Sullinger from Northland High in Columbus, Ohio. Sullinger is also a five-star prospect according to Scout.com
