Chasing The Dream To Be A Buckeye Begins

It's that time of year again, time for those members of the Class of 2008 to show their wares in front of the OSU coaching staff. It is here where dreams can be made or broken as prospects from across the country look to earn an official offer from Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel. Who will be in attendance for the several camps that kickoff Sunday morning and continue through the month of June?

We look at some of the names who have expressed they'll be at OSU at some point during the summer.

In The Bag

These are the easy ones as those players who've already committed to the Buckeyes will make the trip to Columbus and take part in at least one day of camp activity.  Sunday should see the likes of Jake Stoneburner and Mike Adams on hand with the possibility a few more of the 2008 class will join them  While it looks as if Stoneburner may not take part in drills he'll be there working hard on prospects holding OSU offers.  Maybe the most watched prospect on hand will be defensive tackle Garrett Goebel who is sure to attract Stoneburner and company.

Later in the month look for J.B. Shugarts and Nathan Williams to take the practice fields on June 22-nd.  While things can change and players go between the two senior advance camps look for those who are already Buckeyes to be working on possible future teammates.

Last year things really got moving on the second senior camp as players like Donnie Evege and Nate Oliver worked hard on guys holding offers.

It's also here that dreams do come true.  Just ask Dane Sanzenbacher how much one's future can change after camping at OSU.  It was just last summer that Sanzebacher enjoyed a great outing at the second senior day camp and later that night received a text from Coach Tressel telling him he's earned a scholarship.

Who will be this year's Dane Sanzebacher?  We'll know sometime this month.

Ginn Back Again

Don't think for a minute Ted Ginn Sr. is going to pass up Ohio State on his famous "Bus Tour".  The man who's sent more players to Ohio State the past several years than any other coach in the country is going to make sure his prized recruits get their day in front of the Buckeye coaches.

Most Watched Prospect

One of the most watched and anticipated prospects to attend Senior Camp will be Toledo native Kevin Koger.  The tight-end/defensive end prospect says it's down between OSU and Michigan.  Michigan camp came first and the Buckeyes should see Koger on the 22-nd with many other top prospects.

Record Numbers Again

Don't be surprised with the number of kids who'll attend OSU All-Position camps again this year.  In years pass the two sessions have seen thousands of kids attend and come away with a greater and deeper feeling about the Buckeyes program.  The first session will get underway on June 15-th and those who attend this session will also get a chance to watch the Ohio North-South game.  Why do we expect record numbers?  Very easy, registrations have been stopped and no walk-up registrations will be taken.

Keep in mind the following list is put together from what prospects have said about the chances of them attending one of the many camps.  Josh Winslow has worked hard in putting this together and deserves much credit in doing so.
