Spencer Ware Special Prospect for 2010

With two more seasons to go before ending his high school career, Cincinnati Princeton's Spencer Ware will push to establish some major career offensive numbers before leaving high school. This past Saturday Scout.com watched this Class of 2010 prospect during a first round playoff game against Centerville.

While the end results were not what Spencer Ware or his Princeton teammates had hoped for, the 2007 season established another chapter in the already growing list of accomplishments Spencer Ware has posted in the Princeton record books.

As a freshman Ware proved he could be a force and run the offensive attack of the Vikings. In nine games Ware passed for 1,127 yards while hitting on 53% of his passes. While he took his lumps passing (12 interceptions) Ware proved he could also use his legs (710 yards, 11 touchdowns) and be looked upon as one of the top prospects for the Class of 2010.

While the Vikings posted a 3-7 record in 2006 the future looked bright with Ware behind center running the show.

With a year behind him Ware proved capable of helping the Vikings leave the Greater Miami Conference cellar and fight for a conference championship. When all was said and done Princeton would finish with an overall record of 8-2 with a conference mark of 6-1. The mark tied the Vikings with Sycamore for second place behind GMC power-house Colerain.

Improving on his stats as a freshman, Ware would pass for 1,958 yards with only 5 interceptions and 14 touchdowns and go from hitting on 53% of his passes as a freshman to 61% as a sophomore. With a quarterback rating of 159.6 Ware showed the type of improvement that might keep him in the running to play quarterback in the right offensive system in college.

Just as he did his freshman year Ware also used his legs by rushing for 952 yards and 18 touchdowns during the regular season.

When you put together the two-year totals it's easy to see why programs like Ohio State, Michigan, Cincinnati, Illinois and others have taken an early interest.

Rushing: 1,662 yards
