Bill Greene reports that Johnny Simon, one of the top if not the top prospect in Ohio for the Class of 2009, has called and made his verbal commitment to Ohio State and head coach Jim Tressel.
Bill reports the following. "Johnny called and spoke with Coach Heacock and then Coach Tressel today. He then made his verbal commitment to be a Buckeye."
Simon, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive force, visited with the Buckeyes the middle of this month and many felt he'd make the call before the calendar year ended. During Cardinal Mooney's state championship game, coaches Jim Heacock and Luke Fickell both watched Simon play to let him know he was a major priority for the Buckeyes in the Class of 2009.
