It's decision time for Gainesville, Ga. star defensive end Keith Wells. Wells just completed an official visit to Notre Dame, and now claims he has no leader. Wells, who will make his final choice tomorrow afternoon, is considering Ohio State, Tennessee and Notre Dame.
"I'm very tired right now, but I had a great visit to Notre Dame," Wells explained. "Things went really well, and I was impressed with Notre Dame, as I knew I would be. My mom was with me and she felt the same way. I felt comfortable hanging out with the players. Everything went as I hoped it would."
Wells claims the Notre Dame will visit help him make his final choice, even though he admitted it just got a little tougher.
"This visit definitely will have an impact on my final decision," Wells exclaimed. "This makes my decision harder. I just have to do what I feel is best for me. I did not commit to Notre Dame on the visit. I really don't know where I'm going to go right now. I need to get alone and stop talking to coaches. I will go over the information I've gathered throughout the recruiting process, and make my final decision. Coach [Charlie] Weis never put the pressure on me throughout my visit. He never bad-mouthed any of the other schools I'm considering. He just asked me how Notre Dame stacked up to the other schools. I would say that right now all three schools are even. I could see myself playing at Ohio State, Tennessee or Notre Dame. I need to really think this one out tonight. I need to pick the school that I can be most successful at."
Wells is clearly one of the top defensive ends in the country, and it's understandable why he is being recruited so hard. Scout.com will continue to follow Keith Wells, and we'll be bringing you his decision tomorrow.
