Nic DiLillo, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end from Madison, Ohio committed to Ohio State after considering Clemson and Pitt. As a senior, DiLillo caught 31 passes for 476 yards, earning All-State honors.
Ohio State clearly wanted a tight end in this recruiting class, and found their man in Nic DiLillo. DiLillo will probably red-shirt as a freshman, and can learn the position from veterans Rory Nicol and Jake Ballard.
Pro Comparison: Heath Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers
Like Miller, DiLillo will be a threat in the passing game. He lined up at wide receiver for Madison and has the speed to get open down the seams of the defense. In 2007, Miller caught 47 passes for 566 yards, and scored 7 touchdowns.
DiLillo on His Future:
"I NEVER thought this day would happen," DiLillo stated. "Every morning I wake up, I can't believe I'm going to Ohio State to play football. I've always dreamed of being a Buckeye."
"It's finally come true, and this is the closure on my high school career. Ohio State told me to be ready to play next year. I know they have two tight ends ahead of me, so I don't know what will happen. I need to prepare as if I'm going to be on the field. I will come in and work as hard as I can and see where that leads me. If either of the tight ends go down, I plan on being able to step in and contribute."
