"Recruiting is really going great right now," Emilien began. "I have offers from UConn, Kentucky, South Carolina, South Florida, Minnesota and Ohio State. I'm starting to hear from schools from all over the country now and it's real exciting for me."
Emilien, a teammate of Brandon McGee, is a 6-1, 195-pound safety. He has the ability to play corner but most schools see him as a safety who can cover receivers.
"I think my tackling ability is my greatest strength," Emilien stated. "I also have good coverage skills and can play out on the corner also. My nickname is the "Hit Man" and I like to blow people up. I can run a 4.55 40-yard dash, maybe quicker. I consider myself a team player and I'm all about winning. I think I got overshadowed by Brandon early on, but things are heating up now."
Emilien is not receiving a lot of attention from Miami (Fla.), Florida State or Florida at this time. He remains unfazed by their lack of attention.
"They haven't offered me yet, but Florida State has been at the school," he said. "I have no problem going away for college at all. My mother supports me going where I need to go. I need to find the best school for me, whether that's in Florida or out of state."
Emilien has an early favorite list and he listed two programs at the very top.
"My two favorite schools are South Florida and Ohio State," he admitted. "South Florida is a school that's on the rise and it's a nice school. I'm going to Ohio State next month and I'm excited to see that school. I've already bought my ticket for the spring game and I'm excited to get up there. Getting an Ohio State offer on Thursday was really exciting."
Emilien had been in regular contact with the Buckeye staff, so an offer was not a big surprise.
"I first started talking to Coach (Paul) Haynes," he said. "Then Luke Fickell got involved and they both are recruiting me. They had me send my tape to them a few weeks ago and they both liked it a lot. They stayed in touch and on Wednesday they asked my school for my transcript. I have over a 3.0 GPA, so I knew that would be good. On Thursday they called my coach and asked him to have me call. Coach Fickell said I have an offer and it's in the mail. Brandon (McGee) and I are both really considering going to Ohio State to play together."
Emilien said he's in no hurry to make a decision, but hinted that one could come before his senior season concludes.
"I'm really interested in Ohio State, no doubt about it," he stated emphatically. "If things go really well on my visit, I still don't think I would commit on the spot. I would want my mom to come with me on an official visit, so she could meet the coaches and players. I'd want us to see Ohio State on a game day situation. I've heard it's pretty special."
