"Recruiting is going great for me right now," Bellamy stated. "Things have picked up recently and I have 11 offers right now. I have picked up offers from Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Boston College, Michigan State, Northwestern and a few others. Michigan offered this week and that was a big offer to me. That was a real surprise to me."
Bellamy hasn't ruled out any school at this point, but did discuss a few of his offers in depth.
"The Michigan offer is a big bonus for me," he said. "The tradition at Michigan is awesome. I had been in contact with coach Tall and he said they liked me but I didn't hear from them too much. The offer just showed up in the mail. My coach saw it before I did and he called and told me about it. I was pretty pumped up when I got it. I visited Michigan earlier for a spring practice and I like Michigan a lot. I grew up in the East and followed hockey more than college football. I'm pretty neutral toward them unlike most of my friends who are all Ohio State fans. I've visited Michigan State too, and I liked everything about their program. I like coach Dantonio and that whole staff a lot. I also visited Indiana and I liked their facilities a lot. The Indiana coaches are recruiting me pretty hard and they're really good guys."
Bellamy is still hoping to earn more offers and admits there are three schools that he feels might be close to offering.
"My coach has told me that he thinks Ohio State and Notre Dame are close to offering," Bellamy added. "I'm going to the Ohio State camp on this coming Sunday. I'm hoping to show them what they're looking for. I visited Ohio State this past winter and I like them a lot. Ohio State is a school I like a lot and I would be thrilled if they would offer. Illinois is also wanting me to come to camp. I like coach Wolford a lot at Illinois and I might be setting up a visit to their camp later on. Notre Dame is so well known for their tradition and I don't know the coaches well. I might be going there for camp too. I don't have any other camps planned at this time. I want to see how things go at Ohio State this week and then go from there. I want to go to a lot of other camps and I'll concentrate on them after I get back from Ohio State's camp."
Bellamy's film is ultra impressive and his quickness off the ball is what stands out. Bellamy, 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, plays both sides of the ball at Aurora but most schools are recruiting him as a defensive tackle.
