Four Star DE Favors Two

Western Pennsylvania native Tyrone Ezell ranks 23rd nationally at the defensive end position and is being recruited by nearly a dozen schools. Scout.com caught up with Ezell to talk recruting and he revealed the news that two schools have emerged as front runners.

Tyrone Ezell of Steel Valley High School in Western Pennsylvania recorded 120 tackles and nine sacks last season as a junior. His production has earned him four star status and double digit offers. Scout.com recently sat down with Ezell to get updates on his recruitment and he revealed that two schools stand out above the rest.

"I really like Pitt(sburgh) and Ohio State," said the four star defensive end. "They are definitely my favorites."

"It's close to home and my family and friends are here. Pittsburgh is home so it is only natural that imma feel comfortable there," says Ezell in regards to the location of Pittsburgh. "I also like Coach (Greg) Gattuso. He's a cool dude."

Ezell insists that location is only a small factor that he will examine when it is time for him to announce his decision. Ezell lists different reasons for placing the Buckeyes in his top two.

"Ohio State is a major program. They have been extremely successful and they always get top players," says the 6'4 248 pound prospect. "I love their tradition."

Aside from Ezell's reports that Pittsburgh and OSU are his early favorites, he told Scout.com that Colorado has an outside shot when asked about his visits.

"I know that I am visiting three schools at this point; Ohio State, Pitt(sburgh), and Colorado."

Colorado?

After such high praise for OSU and PIttsburgh, the Buffaloes seemingly came out of nowhere. But according to Ezell they have always been hoovering around the top of his list.

"I've liked them for awhile. I hear a lot of good things about their school. They have great academics and that it's a nice safe place to live and go to school." Although Ezell plans visits to OSU, Pittsburgh, and CU, he has yet to schedule the dates.

"I am starting to schedule visits now," says Ezell speaking of his offical vistis. "Besides the other three I don't know who I am going to see. I should know soon though."

Scout.com will continue to track the recruitment of Ezell to bring you the latest scoop.
