Corey Brown looking to get out in space

With well over 30 offers on hand, top PA WR Corey Brown is looking at colleges that fit his style of play. GBW talked with him about cutting his list of suitors, and some of the schools he is interested in.

As a wide receiver, Springfield (PA) Cardinal O'Hara Corey Brown wants to be involved in an offense that can use his skill set. He has speed, he is shifty and he can catch. As he begins his journey to choosing a school, he is looking for an offense that puts players in position to make plays.

"I like an offense where you can get out in space, to use your skills."

Colleges all over the country are coming after him; but soon, between this weekend and the middle of June, look for him to narrow his list of down.

"I am going to narrow my list down to about 10. I am enjoying the process and I am grateful about my situation, but things can get hectic sometimes. I am just trying to stay focused and be humble."

Brown has many schools after him, including Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, West Virginia, LSU, Penn State, Louisville, Miami (Fla.) and Ohio State.

With that on his mind there is one school that is recruiting him the hardest.

"Florida is recruiting me the hardest right now ... with Florida they have that Percy Harvin thing going."

The Gators are putting in work but there is another school that he would really like to get to know better.

"Michigan is a school that I would like to know more about."

The Wolverines have been in contact with him, and he has seen enough to know that he is interested in them.

"I had a chance to talk with Coach Dews, he would be a cool college coach to get to know.

"Coach Rodriguez is doing a good job ... he had a tough year last year but I think he will have a better year this season."

Brown also has other reasons for taking a closer look at Michigan.

"I really like their offense -- the screens and bubble screens that they run. I like how they put players in open space."

Brown will be making sure that he looks at other factors as far as football is concerned.

"I will be looking at depth charts and also playing time -- I would like to play early."

As Corey continues to look at schools he does have other interest then just football.

"I want a good academic environment, and I would like to major in Communications. I am carrying a 3.1 GPA right now so academics are important to me."
