Taylor Graham "Ecstatic" Over Buckeye Offer

Wheaton (Ill.) North quarterback Taylor Graham has been offered a scholarship by Ohio State. Graham is the son of former Buckeye Kent Graham and has offers from several schools, including Wisconsin, UCLA and Michigan State. Bill Greene has the news on the Graham offer.

Taylor Graham, of Wheaton North [Ill.], has been offered a scholarship to play his college football at Ohio State. Graham, son of former Buckeye Kent Graham, learned of the offer in a phone call with Buckeye head coach Jim Tressel on Thursday.

"I just got off the phone with Coach Tressel and he said they are offering me a scholarship," Graham told BuckeyeSports.com. "I'm really excited about this offer. I've always been a Buckeye fan growing up and I was born at the Ohio State hospital. When the chance came up to go to camp, I figured I would go and even if I didn't get offered, it would be a great time seeing everything again."

Graham's camp appearance was clearly a successful trip and resulted in an offer he has wanted for a long time.

"It was great being there and seeing the facilities," he said. "I wasn't sure I was what they were looking for, but as the day went on they showed a lot of interest in me, and things just worked out."

Graham's phone call to Buckeye head coach Jim Tressel was an exciting moment for the young star.

"I was told to call Ohio State in a few days, so when I called today they put me on with Coach [Jim] Tressel," Graham explained. "I just got off the phone with him. He said the entire staff was in agreement that they should offer me a scholarship and he said I had the offer. I just thanked him over and over, and I was really ecstatic with the offer."

Graham has an impressive offer list, including Wisconsin, Michigan State, UCLA and others, and admits this offer will make his decision that much more difficult.

"I have a lot of great offers and I have to find the place that fits me the best," he stressed. "I'm looking at the offense each school runs, and I will sit down with my dad and my coaches to find the best fit for me."

Graham, 6-foot-4 and 210-pounds, hopes to make his decision in the near future.

"I want to be able to focus on winning a state title for my school and I want to get all the distractions out of the way," he stressed. "I want to take some time and hopefully make my decision before school starts."

Even though his father returns every year to watch at least one Buckeye game, Taylor only saw his first Ohio State game two years ago.

"I haven't been to a lot of games at Ohio State," Graham said. "My mom and I came to the Wisconsin game two years ago and we loved it. We had a great time. Last summer my dad and I attended a summer practice and toured the facility. I know Ohio State has offered two other quarterbacks but that doesn't bother me at all. Right now I'm just ecstatic with this offer. It's still kind of hard to believe. After my injury last year I never expected any offers, so this is so unbelievable, and Ohio State is such a great opportunity for me. I couldn't be happier to be honest."
