Cash Has "Awesome Experience" At OSU

Plantation, Fla., junior defensive back Jeremy Cash was one of several recruits on hand at Ohio State last Saturday for the game with USC. Cash is one of the top safety prospects in Florida and was recently offered by Miami of Florida. Bill Greene spoke with Cash and filed this report.

Plantation, Fla., junior Jeremy Cash made his second trip to Ohio State on Sept. 12 to see the Buckeyes play USC. Cash had previously camped at Ohio State in July and was one of the top performers.

"Gameday was crazy at Ohio State," Cash told "I was part of 106,000 Buckeye fanatics and I had an awesome experience. They set a new attendance record and I'm glad I was a part of it. My parents and I kept asking each other how they can be so popular in this state. We kept wondering how do they do this every week. We were so happy to be able to see and experience the USC game."

Cash and his family arrived on campus early Saturday and spent several hours touring the various Buckeye tailgate locations.

"It was so different from when I was here for camp earlier in the summer," he said. "This experience was so great and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. The Ohio State fans were so great to my family and they made us all feel so much at home. I got to meet the parents of [Buckeye center] Michael Brewster and they were such nice people, as were all the many Buckeye fans we met throughout the day leading up to the game."

Even though Ohio State lost the game in heartbreaking fashion, the loss did not dampen the enthusiasm of Cash for the Buckeye program.

"I felt bad that Ohio State lost in the last few minutes but I couldn't be happier to have been there to see it," Cash said. "I was rooting for Ohio State and I thought they were going to win it the entire game. That stadium was so loud and it was better than I thought it could be. I've watched big football games before on television but it doesn't compare to being there in person. Even though being a fan was great, I'd much rather experience that game as a player."

Cash has an offer from Miami (Fla.) and is hoping to add more in the near future, including Ohio State.

"I do have an offer from Miami," Cash said. "That was my first offer and that is still very exciting for me. I'm interested in any school that's interested in me. I'm hoping to get an offer from Ohio State and they are clearly a favorite of mine. We are going to meet with the Ohio State coaches tomorrow morning (Sept. 14) before we head back home. (Linebackers) coach [Luke] Fickell set everything up for us. We will be going on a tour of the facilities and also meeting with their academic people. It would be great to have an offer from Ohio State on the table."
