Account of Marcel Frost press conference

One of the posters on our message board, Arizona Buckeye, attended Marcel Frost's press conference today and shared his account on the Club Message Board. We liked it so much that we asked him if we could post it here.

Frost's mother and sister are wearing red, dad is wearing grey.

All the Cleveland TV stations are there.

Gary Housteau forgets his cell phone in Ytown, and asks me to use it so BSB can get the press conference and find out Frost is official. At 10 AM conference starts with the principal yapping for a couple minutes about how proud he is of Marcel.

Head Coach Eric Mitchell talks for 2 minutes about Frost as well, he was in his first class of players, one of the two Frosh who was with the varsity when he became the Brush coach.

Frost comes to the podium and thanks everyone and gives his mothers flowers. The big announcement, Frost announces for the University and brings out an Iowa hat and says Ohio State and puts on an OSU hat and has a priceless grin. What a moment. The whole room goes nuts.

Frost decided last night around 12 AM and notified Coach Eric Mitchell at 12:30 AM. Frost called Jim Tressel this morning to tell him that he's a Buckeye. He told Iowa yesterday that he had decommitted.

Roy Hall hosted Frost on his visit, but there wasn't a lot of action, since Hall was studying.

Frost told Tressel after his visit he was undecided and wanted to think about it.

Frost plans to major in education, wants to be a coach.

He said that for now, he'll be on defense as a DE, but LB isn't out of the possibilty.

He would have no problem redshirting... will do what's best for the team. Doesn't know if he'll redshirt or not.

Frost is so relieved that the recruiting process is over. Said it was hard to tell Iowa he was decommitting.

Frost wants to put on about 20 pounds for now....

Irizzary had no factor in his decision.

Dallas Clark leaving is why Frost chose Iowa at first.

Even when he was verbaled to Iowa, Coach Tucker kept on calling Frost, but not to talk football, but just to talk as a friend and see what was going on in his life.

Tressel barely talked football on his visit, he wanted to know about Marcel. Sounds like Woody doesn't it?

Frost said he had dreamed about being a Buckeye since he was a little kid. Roy Hall getting his day last year motivated Marcel to have his day in the sun today, and what a day it was.
