Linder Down To Four Schools

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., St. Thomas Aquinas star offensive lineman Brandon Linder has narrowed his favorite list to four. Linder, one of the top offensive linemen in the country, planned to take an official visit this weekend to Notre Dame to see the Fighting Irish take on USC. Bill Greene caught up with Linder following the St. Thomas Aquinas victory over Miramar and filed his report.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. offensive lineman Brandon Linder was a dominant force Oct. 16 in the Raiders 31-7 victory over Miramar. Linder, one of the top offensive linemen in the country, spoke of how the Raiders' season is`going so far in 2009.

"Things are going good so far," Linder told BuckeyeSports.com following his team's win. "We are getting better every week. We need to keep taking it one game at a time and continue to learn from our experiences."

Linder is encouraged by his team's progress and is looking forward to playing in the Florida state playoffs.

"Our practices are so intense, and we're going against such great players, that come game time we should have a good idea of what we need to get done," he said. "The key to this team is to continue to give relentless effort every single day. The win over Byrnes [South Carolina] seemed to show us what we're capable of if we play hard every night."

Linder is also one of the heaviest recruited linemen in the country and he admitted he has narrowed his list to four schools.

"I'm down to Miami of Florida, Notre Dame, Florida and Ohio State," Linder said. "I'm going to Notre Dame (Oct. 17) for a visit to see them play USC. I've been to Notre Dame three times already and they've always been a favorite of mine. It's a great place to be and I think they have a lot to offer."

"I like Miami a lot as well," he continued. "They're having a good season and things are headed in the right direction. I was there for the Oklahoma game and that was awesome to see."

"Florida has won two of the last three national championship games and I've been there on an unofficial visit already," he said. "They are always going to be a strong team under Urban Meyer and I plan on taking an official visit there later on this fall."

"I haven't visited Ohio State yet but I plan on getting up there in the near future," he said. "I will be taking an oficial visit to Ohio State. It's a great program, with great tradition, and I like the fact that they're always a powerhouse. They have great facilities and they do a good job developing offensive linemen. I speak to Coach [Jim] Bollman at least once a week."

Although he isn't certain when he will make his final decision, Linder is sure he can't go wrong with any of his final four choices.

"They're all great schools with great football programs," Linder admitted. "This`will be a tough choice and I'm going to take all the time I need. I have no idea how long this will take, but once I find the right school I will make the announcement and let each school know of my choice."
