Dillard DE Louis Holmes to be a Buckeye

Recruiting never ends, and it was proven today with news of a new Buckeye recruit.

Louis Holmes is a name we haven't heard much of, but we are finding more about him in a hurry. It appears Holmes will be a late recruiting adddition for Ohio State as Ft. Lauderdale Dillard head coach Ken Scott has said the defensive end has received an offer from OSU and has decided to be a Buckeye.

Louis, a defensive end who transferred to Dillard this year from Tennessee, had a solid year as Coach Scott said he had about 72 tackles and 9 sacks. He's at 6-5 and about 245 or 250 right now, and everything sounds set for OSU.

"He's talked with the coaches and they've told him that they definitely want him and that he definitely has a scholarship there, so he's pretty much satisfied," Coach Scott said.

Louis is trying to get up to OSU for an official visit although his basketball schedule needs to be worked around.

"I think it's this weekend," Coach Scott said. "I'm really trying to arrange for him to get up there because he runs into conflict with his basketball schedule and he's trying to work it so he won't miss any important basketball games. I assume it will be sometime within the next week or so when he'll get up and visit."

Coach Scott said that Louis was also getting interest from Tennessee, LSU, Florida, and others once the teams started to learn about him.
