Senior-to-be recruit - RB Delbert Ferguson

RB Delbert Ferguson will be one of Ohio's best this year. We caught up with him lately for an update.

One of Ohio's prime-time prospects this year is Warren Harding running back Delbert Ferguson.  Ferguson is one of the top five players in Ohio and will rank as one of the top running backs in the Midwest.  Last season, he had 1,717 yards despite only carrying the ball more than 20 times in a game just once.

Delbert, who checks in at 6-3, 215, 4.5, is getting quite a bit of attention already.

"Iowa recently offered me," he said. "Colorado is sending a lot of letters.  So is Michigan and Penn State and of course Ohio State.

Ohio State is having a junior day tomorrow, but it's unclear whether Delbert will attend. Coincidentally though, he is probably going to be down in Columbus visiting with Maurice Clarett.  Delbert also plans on going to OSU again this summer for camp.

"I didn't go to any camps last year," he said.  "I will be camping down at Ohio State in June... I've been to Ohio State and Penn State (already), and West Virginia some time ago."

Delbert is going to be looking to get on the field early and win.

"Early playing time will be a factor," he said. "I want to go to a team that is going to be a contender.

Delbert, who lists his favorite running backs as Ricky Williams and Eddie George, is looking to be the next Ohio star to get an early jump on college.

"I may have to make an early decision because I want to get out of school and enroll early," he said.

Keep an eye on Delbert Ferguson this year.  He will be one of the best in the Buckeye State.
