Junior Prospect - Brandon Wamsley

Cincinnati Anderson's Brandon Wamsley will be one of Ohio's best defensive backs this year. We caught up with him lately for an update.

One of the best players you might not have heard much about yet is Brandon Wamsley, an excellent defensive back from Cincinnati Anderson. He is a great tackler and hitter and has excellent athleticism.  Last season, he had 56 tackles, and 1 fumble recovery.  He currently stands at 6-2, 180, and runs a 4.49, and does bench press reps at 255. 

He played corner last year for Anderson, but this year, he also plans on playing at WR.  We found out more about his game and his recruiting status:

Current Favorite: Ohio State

Schools sending him letters: "Illinois a lot, Virginia Tech, Boston College, West Virginia, and just recently Notre Dame."

School he'd like to hear more from: Penn State

On his game: "I put my body on the line a lot. I try to make plays, I try to get to the ball."

Camps: Michigan State and Ohio State in the summer, Ann Arbor Nike Camp

Away from the football field: Plays basketball, track, lifts weights

Favorite player: "Probably (Mike) Doss."

Important factors in choosing a school: "I want to try to stay close to home."
