Massillon Star Lands Buckeye Offer

Ohio State offered a scholarship to Massillon wide receiver Devin Smith, Monday afternoon. Smith, one of the top prospects in Ohio, received his offer following an impressive performance at Ohio State's senior camp this past weekend. Bill Greene has the news on the latest offer for Smith.

Massillon (OH) wide receiver Devin Smith has been offered a scholarship by Ohio State, following an impressive camp performance last weekend.

Smith, 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, is one of the top prospects in the 2011 Ohio class, and holds offers from over 20 programs, including Michigan, Notre Dame and West Virginia.

"I wanted to tell you I was offered by Ohio State today," Smith reported. "I received an e-mail from (assistant coach) Darrell Hazell, telling me I had the offer. I couldn't be happier, to tell you the truth, because Ohio State has always been my favorite school."

"I need to talk this over with my parents, and give it some thought," he continued. "When Coach Hazell e-mailed me back, he asked me if I was a Buckeye, and I answered that I was, and I would give him an answer later today, or tomorrow."

Ohio State has 14 commitments in the 2011 recruiting class, including one wide receiver, Evan Spencer, of Vernon Hills, Illinois.
