Future Cowboys: Week 3

Oklahoma State has 17 players who have given verbal commitments for the Class of 2011. As we have done for the past several years, GoPokes.com will follow those 17 players during the course of their 2010 football seasons. Here are the results of those future Cowboys for this past week.

JIMMY BEAN, defensive end (6-5, 220)
Guyer High School (Denton, Texas)
This week's game: Bean had two quarterback sacks as Denton Guyer rallied for a 34-31 victory over Mesquite Horn with a touchdown with three seconds remaining in the game.

MICHAEL BOWIE, OL (6-5, 315)
Navarro College (Corsicana, Texas)
This week's game: Navarro, ranked 10th in the polls, improved its record to 2-1 with a 27-10 victory over Tyler on Saturday.

TRAVIS CROSS, OL (6-5, 270)
West High School (Plano, Texas)
This week's game: Plano West improved to 3-0 on Friday night but it wasn't easy as the Wolves needed a blocked field goal on the game's final play to capture a 17-14 victory over North Mesquite.

DEVIN DAVIS, OL (6-5, 250)
Nacogdoches High School (Nacogdoches, Texas)
This week's game: Nacogdoches got its first win for first-year head coach Scott Ford by defeating Carthage 41-20 on Friday night.

DAVID GLIDDEN, WR (5-11, 180)
Mustang High School (Mustang, Okla.)
This week's game: Glidden caught six passes for 99 yards and three touchdowns, and also returned an interception 48 yards for another TD, to help Mustang defeat Bixby 47-21 on Friday night.

JOHNNY HAYNES, WR (5-10, 175)
MacArthur High School (Irving, Texas)
This week's game: Haynes accounted for nearly 200 total yards but he fumbled the ball at the 1-yard line and it rolled out of the end zone for a touchback as MacArthur lost 24-21 to Richland on Friday. Haynes has 153 rushing yards, including a 66-yard TD run, on just 12 carries, and also caught five passes for 38 yards in the loss.

LYNDELL JOHNSON, S (6-3, 190)
East High School (Plano, Texas)
This week's game: Plano East, 2-1, did not play this week.

North Shore High School (Galena Park, Texas)
This week's game: North Shore rolled to a 48-21 victory over Humble Kingwood for its third consecutive victory.

ASHAAD MABRY, DT (6-3, 290)
MacArthur High School (San Antonio, Texas)
This week's game: Mabry had a sack and helped the Brahmas shut down New Braunfels 28-10 on Saturday as MacArthur improved to 4-0.

RYAN ROBINSON, DE (6-4, 270)
Jones County Junior College (Ellisville, Miss.)
This week's game: Jones County appeared to be in control against second-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast on Saturday but the Bulldogs scored 17 unanswered points en route to a 31-24 victory.

DESMOND ROLAND, WR (6-2, 190) Lake Highlands High School (Dallas, Texas) This week's game: Roland and his Lake Highlands teammates have the week off before returning to the field against Dallas Samuell.

QUENTIN SARGENT, CB (5-11, 175)
Bowie High School (Arlington, Texas)
This week's game: Arlington Bowie, 2-1, had a bye week.

DeMARCUS SHEROD, LB (6-2, 220)
Columbia High School (Decatur, Ga.)
This week's game: Columbia, 2-1, was scheduled to play Saturday against Atlanta McNair.

HERSCHEL SIMS, RB (5-9, 190)
Abilene High School (Abilene, Texas)
This week's game: Sims was back in action Thursday night in the nationally televised game against Tampa (Fla.) Plant High School after sitting out the previous week's game with a shoulder injury. He rushed for 35 yards on 15 carries and caught four passes for 25 yards in Abilene's 27-17 victory.

J.W. WALSH, QB (6-2, 190)
Guyer High School (Denton, Texas)
This week's game: Walsh drove the Wildcats 71 yards in the final minute and threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Quint Gardener with three seconds remaining to give Guyer a 34-31 victory over Mesquite Horn. He completed 14 of 23 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 122 rushing yards on 21 carries for another pair of TDs as Guyer improved to 2-1.
