Future Cowboys: Week 6

Oklahoma State has 18 players who have given verbal commitments for the Class of 2011. As we have done for the past several years, GoPokes.com will follow those 18 players during the course of their 2010 football seasons. Here are the results of those future Cowboys for this past week.

Guyer High School (Denton, Texas)
This week's game: The Guyer defense intercepted four passes as the Wildcats defeated Keller Central 47-20 on Friday night.

MICHAEL BOWIE, OL (6-5, 315)
Navarro College (Corsicana, Texas)
This week's game: Navarro, which moved up to No. 5 in last week's NJCAA rankings, defeated Arkansas Baptist 70-13 on Saturday.

TRAVIS CROSS, OL (6-5, 270)
West High School (Plano, Texas)
This week's game: Plano West suffered its third consecutive loss as Flower Mound Marcus won 42-14 on Friday night.

DEVIN DAVIS, OL (6-5, 250)
Nacogdoches High School (Nacogdoches, Texas)
This week's game: Nacogdoches won the turnover battle 6-to-5 but lost the game Friday night as Whitehouse rolled to an easy 48-19 victory. The Dragons are now 2-4.

ALEX ELKINS, LB (6-4, 235)
Blinn College (Brenham, Texas)
This week's game: Blinn and Elkins, the latest Cowboy commitment, improved their record to 4-2 with a 41-14 victory over Tyler (Texas) on Saturday.
Next scheduled game: Saturday, Oct. 16, at Trinity Valley. DAVID GLIDDEN, WR (5-11, 180)
Mustang High School (Mustang, Okla.)
This week's game: Glidden has just three pass receptions but made them count as Mustang rolled to a 39-10 victory over winless Edmond Santa Fe on Friday night. Glidden turned a screen pass into a 67-yard touchdown in the second quarter and then turned another short pass into a 57-yard gain to set up another Broncho TD.

JOHNNY HAYNES, WR (5-10, 175)
MacArthur High School (Irving, Texas)
This week's game: Haynes rushed for 88 yards on just six carries and also caught three passes for 37 yards but it wasn't enough as L.D. Bell captured a 35-21 victory on Friday night. Haynes scored two of MacArthur's three touchdowns, including a 63-yard run in the third quarter to pull his team within 18-15. He also added a 15-yard touchdown reception.

LYNDELL JOHNSON, S (6-3, 190)
East High School (Plano, Texas)
This week's game: Plano East's defense proved two interception returns for touchdowns but it wasn't enough as No. 2-ranked Allen rallied for a 34-24 victory on Friday night.

MIKEATAVIUS JONES, CB (5-11, 170)
North Shore High School (Galena Park, Texas)
This week's game: North Shore defeated Port Arthur Memorial 35-28 on Friday night for its fifth consecutive victory, and also avenged last season's 7-6 loss to the Titans that ended their 52-game district winning streak.

ASHAAD MABRY, DT (6-3, 290)
MacArthur High School (San Antonio, Texas)
This week's game: The MacArthur defense scored a pair of touchdowns as the Brahmas rallied to defeat Churchill 49-32 on Friday night.

ISAAC MASELERA, S (6-0, 185)
Glenpool High School (Glenpool, Okla.)
This week's game: Maselera played offense for the first time this season Friday night after nursing an injury the first half of the year and scored a 5-yard touchdown in the first quarter as Glenpool rolled to a 74-34 victory over Santa Fe South.

NICO ORNELAS, LB (6-3, 190)
Richland High (Richland Hills, Texas)
This week's game: Richland led 17-3 at halftime but couldn't hold as as Colleyville Heritage rallied for a 31-24 victory Friday night.

RYAN ROBINSON, DE (6-4, 270)
Jones County Junior College (Ellisville, Miss.)
This week's game: Jones County was scheduled to play Hinds on Saturday afternoon.

DESMOND ROLAND, WR (6-2, 190) Lake Highlands High School (Dallas, Texas) This week's game: Roland only carried the ball seven times but rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns (on runs of 74, 20 and 10 yards, all in the first quarter) as Lake Highlands defeated Dallas Sunset 62-0 on Friday night.

QUENTIN SARGENT, CB (5-11, 175)
Bowie High School (Arlington, Texas)
This week's game: Arlington Bowie scored the game's first 27 points and never looked back en route to Friday night's 42-14 victory over North Crowley.

DeMARCUS SHEROD, LB (6-2, 220)

This week's game: Columbia had a week off and returns to play next Saturday.

HERSCHEL SIMS, RB (5-9, 190)
Abilene High School (Abilene, Texas)
This week's game: Sims rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns (on runs of 5, 44 and 6 yards) as Abilene defeated Odessa 49-21 on Friday night.
