Harrison To Announce Thursday on TV

D'Angelo Harrison told us just seven days ago that he would not decide which school he would sign with in November until he took official visits to Marquette and St. John's. The standout combo guard said that he plans to give a commitment Thursday without taking those two visits, but insists that all four finalists – Baylor, Marquette, Oklahoma State and St. John's – are still in the running.

The 6-3, 181-pound guard from Sugar Land (Dulles), Texas said that he's planning to announce Thursday on ESPNU where he will sign during the early signing period (Nov. 10-17).

Harrison said that he, his family and coaches spoke with ESPN officials on Monday about announcing his decision on national television. No time has been set for the announcement, although he indicated it would be on ESPNU.

"That was the day me, my family and my coached decided upon," Harrison said when asked why Thursday was chosen as the day for making his verbal commitment.

Ranked as the 60th-best overall prospect in the Class of 2011, Harrison says that he has yet to decide on one of the four schools.

"No decision. I'm still trying to make the right one," he said. "It'll probably be Wednesday night, maybe even Thursday (before I know)."

We did ask Harrison to give a brief recap of what he likes best from each of the four finalists (listed here in alphabetical order):

Baylor: "They went to the Elite Eight last year and they have a lot of hype coming up this season. I really like coach (Scott) Drew. I got to attend a football game on my visit and that was pretty cool."

Marquette: "I really like Marquette too. I like the academic adviser. Me and (assistant) coach (Tony) Benford are real close. I like their guards. They always have good guards and a good backcourt. That's why I like Marquette."

Oklahoma State: "Coach (Butch) Pierre and coach (Travis) Ford, I'm real cool with them. I have a real good relationship with coach Pierre. The locker room is one of the things that really stood out on my visit. They have good guards and I know Ray Penn."

St. John's: "An unbelievable coaching staff. I think it would be a good fit for me. Actually, all the schools would be a good fit for me. I like St. John's a lot."
