Future Cowboys: Week 10

Plano East High School won't be participating in the playoffs this season but Oklahoma State commit Lyndell Johnson made his final high school game one to remember Friday night. Johnson is one of the 19 players who have given verbal commitments to Oklahoma State for the Class of 2011, and what follows are the results of the games played by Johnson and by the Cowboy commitments this weekend.

JIMMY BEAN, defensive end (6-5, 220)
Guyer High School (Denton, Texas)
This week's game: Bean and the Guyer defense were outstanding Friday night in allowing just 160 total yards as the Wildcats defeated Southlake Carroll 28-14 to snap a 47-game home winning streak dating back to 2001.

MICHAEL BOWIE, OL (6-5, 315)
Navarro College (Corsicana, Texas)
This week's game: Navarro, No. 3 in the nation, defeated Kilgore 38-22 on Saturday afternoon to advance to the championship game of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference playoffs. Navarro, 9-1, will face Trinity Valley, 6-4, in the title game. The Bulldogs beat Trinity Valley 27-25 in the final regular season game of the season.

TRAVIS CROSS, OL (6-5, 270)
West High School (Plano, Texas)
This week's game: Plano West suffered a 27-17 loss to Plano in the final regular season game of the season Friday night. Plano West finishes 3-7 after losing its last seven games.

DEVIN DAVIS, OL (6-5, 250)
Nacogdoches High School (Nacogdoches, Texas)
This week's game: The high school football career of Davis came to a close Friday night as Nacogdoches suffered a 38-14 loss to Hallsville. The Dragons finish 3-7.

ALEX ELKINS, LB (6-4, 235)
Blinn College (Brenham, Texas)
This week's game: Blinn saw its season come to an end with Saturday afternoon's 59-38 loss to Trinity Valley in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference playoffs. Blinn finishes 7-3.

DAVID GLIDDEN, WR (5-11, 180)
Mustang High School (Mustang, Okla.)
This week's game: Glidden caught a pair of touchdown passes Friday night but it wasn't enough as Mustang was upset 52-36 by Del City.

JOHNNY HAYNES, WR (5-10, 175)
MacArthur High School (Irving, Texas)
This week's game: Irving MacArthur suffered a 48-15 loss to No. 1-ranked Euless Trinity on Thursday night, and saw its slim playoff hopes fade away. Haynes ran for 96 yards on 20 carries and caught two passes for 35 yards in his final high school game.

JOHN JENKINS, DT (6-4, 343)
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (Perkinston, Miss.)
This weeks' game: Mississippi Gulf Coast upset undefeated and No. 4 Northwest Mississippi 52-24 on Saturday to advance to the championship game of the MACJC playoffs.
Next scheduled game: Saturday, Nov. 13, vs. Copiah-Lincoln (9-1) in MACJC championship game.

LYNDELL JOHNSON, S (6-3, 190)
East High School (Plano, Texas)
This week's game: Johnson picked the perfect way to end his high school football playing career as he scored on a 95-yard fumble return as Plano East defeated Lewisville 21-0 on Friday night. Plano East finishes 5-5.

MIKEATAVIUS JONES, CB (5-11, 170)
North Shore High School (Galena Park, Texas)
This week's game: North Shore defeated Channelview 48-20 on Friday night for its ninth consecutive victory.
Next scheduled game: Friday, Nov. 12, vs. Deer Park (7-3) in Class 5A Division I playoff game.

ASHAAD MABRY, DT (6-3, 290)
MacArthur High School (San Antonio, Texas)
This week's game: Madison defeated crosstown rival San Antonio MarArthur 49-24 to clinch the District 26-5A title on Friday night.

ISAAC MASELERA, S (6-0, 185)
Glenpool High School (Glenpool, Okla.)
This week's game: The Warriors improved to 8-2 with Friday night's 41-7 victory over Harrah, and begin the postseason playoffs by hosting Oklahoma City McGuinness in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.

NICO ORNELAS, LB (6-3, 190)
Richland High (Richland Hills, Texas)
This week's game: Richland saw its playoff hopes fade with a 41-23 loss to Grapevine on Friday night.

RYAN ROBINSON, DE (6-4, 270)
Jones County Junior College (Ellisville, Miss.)
This week's game: Jones County's season came to an end last week.
Next scheduled game: Robinson has completed his junior college playing career and now plans to enroll at Oklahoma State.

DESMOND ROLAND, WR (6-2, 190) Lake Highlands High School (Dallas, Texas) This week's game: Lake Highlands had already clinched a playoff berth so Roland did not play to recover from some nagging injures in Friday night's 17-14 victory over Richardson.
Next scheduled game: Saturday, Nov. 13, vs. South Garland (7-3) in Class 5A Division II playoffs.

QUENTIN SARGENT, CB (5-11, 175)
Bowie High School (Arlington, Texas)
This week's game: Arlington Bowie scored 16 points in the final five minutes to rally for a 44-42 victory over crosstown rival Arlington on Friday night.
Next scheduled game: Saturday, Nov. 13, vs. Midland (9-1) in Class 5A Division I playoffs.

DeMARCUS SHEROD, LB (6-2, 220)
Columbia High School (Decatur, Ga.)
This week's game: Columbia's season came to an end in last weeks' regular season loss to Woodward Academy.

HERSCHEL SIMS, RB (5-9, 190)
Abilene High School (Abilene, Texas)
This week's game: Sims suffered an ankle injury on the game's opening kickoff and did not play return but Abilene rolled to an easy 42-14 victory over Odessa Permian in the regular season finale.

J.W. WALSH, QB (6-2, 190)
Guyer High School (Denton, Texas)
This week's game: Walsh passed for two touchdowns and ran for another Friday night as Guyer defeated Southlake Carroll 28-14 to snap a 47-game home winning streak dating back to 2001. The Wildcats quarterback completed 6 of 11 passes for 141 yards, including TDs of 58 and 21 yards. He also rushed for 53 yards on 15 carries, including a 9-yard scoring run.
