We recently touched base with quarterback/athlete Jonovan Griffin of McKinney (Boyd), Texas, to find out if Griffin, who will lead his team into the playoffs on Friday at Plano's Clark Stadium against Richardson, is still reporting he is a solid commitment to Texas-El Paso. Griffin texted us Wednesday that he has now gone from interest from Oklahoma State to receiving an offer from the school.
"I have an offer from Oklahoma State, and this is something that I am really interested in," reported Griffin. "it is okay, you can report that I have an offer and that I am interested in checking it out. I am hoping to get up there for a game."
The only OSU home game left is the Bedlam game on Nov. 27. Griffin has been on campus before as he attended a junior day last spring.
This season, playing quarterback Griffin rushed for 1,017 yards and 12 touchdowns on 135 carries. He has thrown for 1,418 yards completing 104 of 171 passes with 10 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions. He has even punted once this season.
Last week in the regular season finale against rival McKinney, Griffin, who has been clocked in the 4.4 range and is 6-0 and weighs 170 pounds, ran for 181 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries. He threw for 133 yards and two more scores.
