The 6-1 1/2, 220-pound linebacker said he has kept up with Oklahoma State watching the Cowboys on television and talking to his recruiting coach, Glenn Spencer.
"Coach Spencer calls me and tells me what is going on," he said. "The defensive coaches came down and came by my school. They had a good season and I know that they lost some of their linebackers."
Sherod said he wished his season had gone just a little better. "We were 6-4 and we ended up with what was a play-in game for the playoffs with St. Pius and the outcome was not what we expected, so we missed the playoffs," said Sherod. "I thought I had a better season as a junior individually, but I was so focused on the team."
Sherod says that but as we mentioned he he did make the All-DeKalb County team and the All-State team and he did it with 138 tackles, 95 uassisted. He also had a sack, six fumbles forced, and an interception. His junior season included 122 tackles with 22 tackles for loss and four sacks. He is a tackling machine and his highlight video is impressive.
Now Sherod is just hoping for a little warmer temperatures so he can get to Stillwater this weekend.
