Gunter Brewer Thanks OSU Fans

Gunter Brewer called me this afternoon after texting this message to my phone. He asked me to pass it on to you.

Brewer was announced Wednesday morning by Mississippi head coach Houston Nutt as the new assistant head coach, passing game coordinator, and wide receivers coach at Mississippi. That is a school that Brewer and his family has strong ties to as his father, Billy, is the former head coach of the Rebels.

Brewer leaves after six seasons at Oklahoma State and an original member of the Mike Gundy staff. That leaves just associate head coach Joe DeForest, offensive line coach Joe Wickline, and inside receivers coach Doug Meacham as original members still remaining from Gundy's first season.

Here is Brewer's message:
"On behalf of the Brewer family we would like to say 'Thank You' for six amazing years. Your concerns and prayers during the recent death of my mom was very touching. The Cowboy nation is one of a kind. We will miss the staff, players, and friends who have touched our lives while in Stillwater and at Oklahoma State and will always hold a special place in our hearts for you all. We feel like God has opened a door for us to return to a place we love. Go Pokes!!!
