Sherod Has Good Visit

We didn't want to forget anybody but one visitor from last weekend's monster visit weekend at Oklahoma State we had yet to hear from was linebacker Demarcus Sherod of Decatur (Columbus), Ga.. We had checked with him earlier in the week before his visit and found him hoping for a thaw out in the Atlanta area so he could go on the visit. He got to Stillwater alright.

"Yes sir, it warmed up and we got to Stillwater. It went pretty well," said Sherod. "It was really the same feeling as I had on the unofficial visit just with more commitments.

"It was good because I got to know some of the players that I will be playing with. There were two players I really hung out with. The kicker Matt Green from Kentucky because we traveled together some. Ryan Simmons, another linebacker, and he is in my phone somewhere."

Sherod, who earned All-State honors and repeated as an All-DeKalb County honoree, was hosted by a fellow Georgian and linebacker in LeRon Furr. Sherod finished his senior season with 138 tackles, a sack, an interception, and an amazing six fumbles caused.

He laughed when asked about the food and said, "yes sir, the food was good."

Sherod is secure in his choice and found that one thing Oklahoma and Georgia have in common is the weather, which is unpredictable. He is also trying to decide on his major at Oklahoma State between pre-veterinarian medicine and economics.

Sherod chose the Cowboys over a host of other interested schools like Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky, Louisville, South Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, Tennessee, UAB, and Vanderbilt.
