Ray Penn became the second Oklahoma State basketball player to be suspended in the last three weeks when Cowboys head coach Travis Ford announced Thursday the indefinite suspension of the sophomore point guard. Ford suspended 6-8 junior Darrell Williams earlier this month after he was named in sexual battery and rape charges.
"I'm suspending Ray indefinitely," said Ford. "He has some things he needs to work on outside of basketball, and this will give him time to focus and spend some quality time in the academic center."
Penn is averaging 6.1 points and 2.1 assists per game for the Cowboys, 16-11 overall and 4-9 in Big 12 play entering Saturday's game against Texas Tech at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Houston native has played in all 27 games this season, starting 10 of those contests. He only played two minutes and did not score in OSU's 92-65 loss to No. 3 Kansas on Monday night.
