NFL Scouts Head To OSU

The NFL may be in lock out mode by next week but that doesn't stop the draft or the continued scrutiny of college seniors and potential NFL players which will bring the army of NFL scouts into Stillwater and Boone Pickens Stadium to check out the Oklahoma State seniors. There are 15 Cowboys scheduled to work out in some form or fashion for the scouts Wednesday.

Several Cowboys including running back Kendall Hunter, kicker Dan Bailey, defensive end Ugo Chinasa, linebacker Orie Lemon, and cornerback Andrew McGee were in Indianapolis at the beginning of the month for the NFL Combine.

Of those, Hunter said he will run the forty again and is promising to easily top his 4.53 at the combine. McGee is doing virtually a full workout after skipping much of the work at the combine because of an injury.

Lemon and Chinasa will do various drills upon request, and Lemon is likely to run the forty again. Bailey will be there to talk to scouts but likely won't have to work out as he kicked for all the teams at the combine.

Others will get their opportunity to impress the scouts and will be measured and weighed and will begin with the bench press inside at 10 a.m. and then move outside for drills and timing at approximately 11 a.m.

My guess is the scouts will come away impressed with several of the Cowboys that were not in attenedance at the combine. One Cowboy that projects really well is fullback Bryant Ward, who could grab attention at a position not used as often anymore but still used. Ward is also a special teams dynamo that will attract attention.
