Cowboys Tied For Third Entering Friday

After the second round of matches in the championship bracket and the first round of consolations the Oklahoma State Cowboys still have four wrestlers alive for individual national championships and eight wrestlers alive overall in the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia, Pa.

The Cowboys lost just one wrestler out of the championship brackets on Thursday night as Virginia's Christopher Henrich won a narrow 6-5 decision over Mike Benefiel at 174 pounds.

The other four Cowboys in the championship brackets won and favorites Jordan Oliver at 113 pounds and Clayton Foster at 197 pounds won big.

The Cowboys were in a tie with familiar rival Iowa for third in the team standings, but they are eyeing two quarterfinal matchups Friday morning with second-place Cornell that could have a substantial impact on the team standings. Oliver and 149-pounder Jamal Parks will each hook up with wrestlers from Cornell.
