LeBryan Nash: McDonald's Slam-Dunk Champ

Future Oklahoma State basketball player LeBryan Nash gave Cowboy fans a glimpse of the future Monday night while winning the slam-dunk competition at the prestigious McDonald's All-American Powerade Jam Fest in Chicago, Ill. The 6-7 Nash's final-round score of 124 points edged Duke signee Marshall Plumlee by two points to win the event.

Nash wore the same orange foam Cowboy hat on his final dunk that he was wearing when he verbally committed to Oklahoma State on ESPNU last November.

The future Cowboy become the second OSU signee to win the McDonald's slam-dunk competition. Gerald Green won the event in 2005, but never wore the OSU uniform as he opted instead to enter the NBA Draft instead of playing college basketball.

Nash, from Dallas (Lincoln), Texas, was in fourth place in Monday night's dunk competition after the first round, but rallied to defeat Plumlee, Austin Rivers (another Duke signee), and North Carolina signee P.J. Hairston in the finals.

Nash is following in the footsteps of half-brother and former OSU point guard Byron Eaton, who was a 2005 McDonald's All-American. Nash will participate in the 2011 McDonald's All-American game at 9 p.m. Wednesday. The game will be televised by ESPN.
