"I've been to Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, and yes sir, I was at Arkansas for their spring game last Saturday," said the 6-2, 235-pound Santos, who is rated as one of the top players in Texas and the nation by Scout.com. "Arkansas looked good and they impressed me. You know they are an SEC team with a nice workout facility and they are in my top five for sure."
Top five? That was the perfect time for us to ask, ok, are you still committed and what is your top five?
"Oklahoma State is my number one, have been from the beginning and I am still committed to them," explained Santos. "Next would be Texas A&M, then Arkansas, OU, Michigan, and then Tennessee. That would be my top six."
Santos said he doesn't have a lot going on right now in recruiting or in athletics. Van is a Class 3A school so the school isn't allowed by UIL rules to hold spring practice.
"Right now, I am just working out and here we start two-a-days early instead of spring football," said Santos. "We will start 7-on-7 here next week.
"I'm not going anywhere else for now and the coaches are starting to come in to visit at the school. I hadn't heard from Coach (Glenn) Spencer in awhile and I couldn't reach him because I broke my phone, but I've got it fixed and I've messaged him."
Again, Santos has checked out a number of schools and Oklahoma State is still on top. It can cause for some nervous moments for coaches, for recruiting followers, but as long as the Cowboys are still on top that would be what counts.
