According to Thomas, the Cowboys have offered and he is very familiar with Oklahoma State co-defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer as the native Georgian recruited Thomas' teammate, linebacker Demarcus Sherod, to Oklahoma State in the 2011 class.
"Yes sir, Oklahoma State has offered me and I like Coach Spencer," said Thomas. "Coach was here this week. It was a little busy."
Thomas has offers from Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Florida, Auburn, South Florida, Mississippi, and Kentucky among others. Thomas said at least 10 schools have offered.
Watching video you can see why. He is quick off the ball and with his size, once he is in view of the quarterback he gets his attention and normally disrupts the play whether he touches the quarterback or not. It is easy to see why a number of schools would be interested in Thomas.
"I'm just taking them in right now," said the laid back dual-sport athlete that also plays basketball. "I'm looking for a place where I can fit in. A place that has good football and a good education."
Thomas has a plan for the summer, but he has yet to fill in some of the blanks.
"I'm going to get in the weight room more and try to get my speed up," he said. "I am going to go to some camps and check out some of the schools. I just don't know which ones yet. I have to make some decisions on that."
Oklahoma State is pretty close to fulfilling all its requirements in the 2012 class on defense, as most of the commitments for the Cowboys so far are on defense. However, you would think defensive end is one position where they would still add one.
