Thomas Getting His Share Of The Attention

Just since this past weekend when we updatred standout defensive end Jhaustin Thomas out of Decatur (Columbia), Ga., it seems that travel agents have been busy booking coaches through the Atlanta area school.

"Florida came to school today and Mississippi State too," the 6-6, 245-pound Thomas relayed via text message earlier this week.

Today he was at it again. "Alabama, Penn State, Auburn, and Central Michigan came today," added Thomas in a text.

Just last week there were at least five schools through Columbia High School looking at film and sizing up Thomas, including Florida State, North Carolina, and Oklahoma State.

Thomas said the Cowboys have offered. He is very familiar with Oklahoma State co-defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer as the native Georgian recruited linebacker Demarcus Sherod out of Columbia High School to Oklahoma State in the 2011 class.

Thomas has offers from Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Florida, Auburn, South Florida, Mississippi, and Kentucky.

Thomas said at least 10 schools have offered. Watching video you can see why. He is quick off the ball and with his size, once he is in view of the quarterback he gets his attention and normally disrupts the play wheter he touches the quarterback or not. It is easy to see why a number of schools would be interested in that.

Expect Columbia High School to be a busy place the rest of the evaluation period as Keithon Redding (6-1, 190, 4.5) is another prospect drawing interest from schools including Oklahoma State. Redding is seen by some as a safety and others as a wide receiver.
