Lunt Will Check Out Oklahoma State

School finishes Thursday in Rochester, Ill., and standout quarterback Wes Lunt of the Rochester High School Rockets is heading out to check out a school that offered him close to a month ago. "Yes sir, school is out tomorrow and we are leaving tomorrow for Oklahoma State," Lunt said of the trip.

"I'm going with my Mom and Dad. I don't know what I am expecting to see, except that when they offered me I spoke to Coach (Mike) Gundy and he told me he thought they had the best facilities in the nation in his opinion, so I'm thinking about seeing the facilities," said Lunt.

We asked him how many campuses he has visited in person. We knew of Illinois, but Lunt said he has also visited (unofficially) Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Louisville, Vanderbilt, and Boston College.

Lunt is a stellar athlete that is 6-5 and close to 200 pounds. He has drawn planty of attention and recently schools like Oregon, Iowa, and Duke have been by his high school to see him.

"And Oklahoma was by last week to watch me throw," Lunt added. "Coach (Josh) Heupel was the coach that came up here."

Lunt already has offers from Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, and Virginia, which all came during the evaluation period. Prior to that he had collected offers from Boston College, Illinois, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Western Michigan. Also, Nebraska, Indiana, Northwestern, and Purdue are among others have shown interest.

Lunt led Rochester last season to the Illinois Class 4A state championship and an undefeated 14-0 season. They claimed the Central State Eight Conference championship and Lunt was named first team All-Central State Eight Conference in addition to getting mention for All-State. He completed 69 percent of his passes for an impressive total of 3,107 yards with 30 touchdowns and just four interceptions.

We asked Lunt to get back to us after he leaves the Oklahoma State campus on Friday or Saturday to let us know how the trip goes.
