Soucek is a Cowboy; Smart and Forte visiting

A source close to the basketball program confirmed a few items of interest with Go Pokes on Thursday.

First off, international center Marek Soucek is officially a Cowboy.

The 7-foot Czech Republic product is flying in to Tulsa Thursday night and will start classes in Stillwater on Friday. Soucek chose the Cowboys over Maryland, Washington, Seton Hall, Providence, Gonzaga and Utah State.

Secondly, five-star shooting guard Marcus Smart and two-star point guard Phil Forte, both of Flower Mound (Marcus) in Texas will visit Stillwater next on Thursday for the Cowboys' nationally televised game against Arizona.

The two basketball recruits also play for Texas Assault in AAU play.

Forte is currently entertaining offers from Kansas, Iowa, Kansas State, SMU and Texas Tech. OSU has yet to offer the 5-foot-11 point guard.
