Junior College Tight End Narrows It To Three

Tight end Blake Jackson of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College has been recruited by close to 30 schools and offered by at least 20. He was part of an offensive explosion Saturday that resulted in a 76-24 victory over Pima C.C. that re-wrote the single game offensive records for the Artichokes.

"Yes, I was a part of it," said the 6-4 1/2, 235-pound Jackson, who is originally from Gilbert, Ariz. "I had three touchdowns in the game. I caught four passes overall. It was crazy, but it was a lot of fun."

Jackson has now almost passed his stats from a season ago at Scottsdale that first got him noticed. He now has 31 receptions for over 550 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a freshman last season he earned postseason honors with 33 catches for 540 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Earlier this fall he had narrowed his school choices down to six schools but he said that he has now cut that in half.

"I am down to three schools and I will visit all three after my regular season," said Jackson, who has three regular season games remaining. "I am down to Georgia, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas.

"I'm going to visit for games at all three schools. At Arkansas they will be playing Tennessee (Nov. 12), and then Oklahoma State is playing Oklahoma (Dec. 3), and Georgia is playing Kentucky (Nov. 19). I have seen all three schools some on television, so I could see what their offense is all about."

Jackson did not tip his hand but we can tell you the three schools that fell out of the race were Missouri, Arizona, and Miami (Fla.).
