Curry Has A Big Game On A Big Stage

Oklahoma State fans can go to, which is the website for the Georgia Public Broadcasting System and they can follow to the Football Fridays on demand offering and watch last week's Game of the Week, Flowery Branch featuring Oklahoma State wide receiver commitment C.J. Curry and Heritage High School.

Curry and Flowery Branch got it done 21-13 in a very well played game. C.J.'s father, Felix Curry, called us back today and gave us more after we had seen Curry's spectacular catch and run that set up the go ahead score at 14-6. Curry finished the drive with a 14-yard touchdown catch.

"He finished with six catches for 152 yards and the touchdown," said proud dad Felix Curry. "He had a good game and he is really excited about Oklahoma State. You know there was a story in the local paper here, Gainesville Times, last Friday that talked about C.J. and how he likes Dez Bryant and Justin Blackmon. We actually watched the Texas game yesterday. Number one is a good player and #31 too. What classification are they?

Told they were both sophomores, Mr. Curry was excited.

"You know that offense is real similar to what they run here at Flowery Branch. This summer C.J. and Coach Dunn were talking about it. They were going over signs and checks and because the offenses are so close, C.J. knew most of the signs and checks. We really enjoy Coach Monken and everything they are doing in that offense."

On the season Curry now has 28 receptions for 570 yards and seven touchdowns. The game before the win over Heritage, which by the way moved Flowery Branch to 7-0, was a 56-31 win over Habershear Central 56-31. In that contest Curry had five receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns along with a 37-yard run and a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Curry is extremely explosive and shows it every week. He is also making his dad proud and, no doubt, the Oklahoma State coaches very happy.
