Aggie Commit Ifedi To Visit OSU

Houston (Westside), Texas offensive tackle Germain Ifedi helped his team to an 8-3 record this season and a playoff berth. Off the field he's had a busy fall, too, as Ifedi made a commitment early in the summer to Missouri before changing later to Texas A&M. Still pledged to Texas A&M, Ifedi confirmed that he will make a recruiting visit this weekend to Big 12 Champion Oklahoma State.

"I just want to see how the place is. Oklahoma State is an interesting school and I just want to see it," explained Ifedi. "Nothing too serious, just check it out. I'm still committed to Texas A&M."

Ifedi is an outstanding student to go along with a very strong and powerful force on the football field at 6-6, 315 pounds. He is capable of bench pressing in excess of 325 pounds and can squat 450 pounds or more with a strong lower body. His GPA is 3.3 and he is looking to major in Civil Engineering.

He has had plenty to digest lately as he was recruited primarily by former Aggies head coach Mike Sherman and has to watch a coaching change in College Station.

"It didn't really change anything for me," said Ifedi of the process. "It was my first time (coaching change) but stuff like that happens all over the country with coaches getting fired. It is part of the business of college athletics. I needed to wait and see and be patient and I think they picked the right guy (Kevin Sumlin) for the job."

Since that final game for Westside in the playoffs, Ifedi said he played some basketball but is out of that now and just working out to continue to get stronger for his collegiate future.
