Greg Brantley Enjoys His Visit

We caught up with Class 3A All-State offensive tackle and Oklahoma State recruiting pledge Greg Brantley of Carthage, Texas on his way back home following his official visit this weekend to Oklahoma State.

"It was great," said Brantley of the visit. "We toured campus and looked around Stillwater."

Brantley's Carthage team finished 9-4 and went three weeks into the playoffs as he repeated on the first-team All-District team and added the distinction of All-State to his resume. Brantley is not just talented on the field, he is also a good student, and told me he plans to major in Petroleum Engineering at Oklahoma State.

"I took some classes in high school that had me interested in it," he added.

Brantley's host this weekend was a fellow East Texan in redshirt freshman Devin Davis out of Nacogdoches. "That went good. We got along good," added Brantley.

In the future those two could be on either side of Joe Wickline's offensive line as Davis was a very promising young lineman this fall that was so good in camp that he almost skipped wearing a redshirt, something that is very rare for Wickline.

Brantley has great size, but is also athletic and carries his 300 pound plus well on a 6-7 frame.
